Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the old times in the Pokemon world at a time when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the land of the Hisui region, which will be known as Sinnoh region in the modern times, you’ll join the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from Hisui region as to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
In the game, the Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions. Additionally, various people will also ask help from the player in the form of requests. One of these requests is Request 61 titled ‘More New Wares’. In this guide, you’ll learn how to complete the ‘Even More New Wares’ request.
Even More New Wares
In order to unlock this request, the player must first accept the “Scaling Perilous Heights” mission which is the eleventh mission in the game where the player must quell a frenzied Noble Hisuian Electrode. Additionally, the player must also complete the ‘More New Wares’ request (Request 43) from Choy in Jubilife Village.
After doing the requirements mentioned, you can now start this request! To do just that, head to the General Store just across the Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village and there you will find the merchant named Choy. Talk to him and he will tell the player that Tao Hue won’t listen to him and is refusing to do business with him again. Choy will then ask the player to persuade Tao Hua again (like in request 23 and 43) by bringing him some Crunchy Salt as a token of goodwill. Then, just like that, the request has started!
In order to complete this request, all the player has to do is bring Tao Hua three Crunchy Salts. Now it is time to find some Crunchy Salts!
Crunchy Salt can be found on the side of cliffs and mountains, which the player can only reach by riding the rideable Sneasler, in the Coronet Highlands and the Alabaster Icelands. It is worth noting that there are at least two Crunchy Salts on the mountainside just northwest of the Mountain Camp at the Coronet Highlands. If you can find any more Crunchy Salts, you can just reset the map by going to Jubilife Village then back to the location where you obtained the Crunchy Salts earlier.
The player can also dig up Crunchy Salt from treasure buried on the ground by riding the rideable Ursaluna.
It is worth noting that the player can also obtain Crunchy Salts after catching or defeating certain Pokemon, specifically Bergmite, Hisuian Avalugg, Gible, Gligar, Swinub, and Piloswine.
Alternatively, it is possible to purchase Crunchy Salts for 200 Pokemon Dollars in the Craftworks (after it is added to his wares) by talking to Anvin.
After obtaining at least three Crunchy Salts, head back to Jubilife Village and head to the Galaxy Hall. Head to the basement and go inside the room where you will see an old man wearing green clothes and a pair of glasses named Tao Hua. He is standing near the center desks with the flags. Talk to Tao Hua and he will ask the player if Choy sent a customer to negotiate for him again. He will then tell the player that he will only confess why he gets stubborn over selling a few things to Choy after the player gives him three hunks of Crunchy Salt. After that, the player will give him the Crunchy Salts to which Tao Hua will then say that it is no less than he expected from the player to have the Crunchy Salts ready and that he wishes that he could recruit the player to join his corps. Confirm to give him the Crunchy Salts on the prompt and Tao Hua will marvel at the Crunchy Salts which according to him is the Coronet Highlands’ finest feature. He will also mention that the Crunchy Salts are great for making potent lure for Pokemon but first you would have to break it up with a hammer, get the chunks in a mortar, grind them into powder, mix the powder with another ingredient, and you’ll get crunchy cake that Pokemon love to munch on. Now that the player has given him some Crunchy Salts, Tao Hua will finally agree to set Choy up with some new wares.
Tao Hua will also mention that Choy ran off with his treasure and that’s why he will never let him live it down.
After that, go back to Choy, still in the General Store just across the Galaxy Hall, and talk to him. He will then thank you for doing him a favor. However, Choy will notice that the player is troubled to which you can reply about what Tao Hua told you. Choy will then explain that it is only one way of putting it and the story is not that simple. He will then say that the player should believe him that it is nothing to worry about and he will end up telling the full story at some point as the player is such a fine customer. Finally, Choy will say that he now has new wares to sell which you can purchase after talking to him!
Now that you have completed the ‘More New Wares’ Request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you which is to catch ‘em all!
