Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the old times in the Pokemon world at a time when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the land of the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will also ask for help from the player in requests. One of these requests is Request 24, titled ‘Inspiration from Hippopotas.’ This guide will teach you how to complete the ‘Inspiration from Hippopotas’ request.
Inspiration from Hippopotas
To unlock this request, the player must first complete “The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods” mission (the seventh mission of the game), where the player must quell the Noble Kleavor’s frenzy and receive the “Arezu’s Predicament” mission (the eighth mission in the game), where the player must quell the Lady of the Ridge Liligant’s frenzy.
After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! Go to the Clothier just across the player’s assigned quarters and talk to the merchant in the purple kimono named Anthe. She will tell you that she needs the inspiration to create new clothes for the village. Because of this, she will ask you to catch a pair of Hippopotas, one male and one female, as Hippopotas have different appearances based on their gender, and Anthe wants to compare them so she may be inspired to create new designs. After this conversation, the ‘Inspiration from Hippopotas’ has started!
Now it is time to find some Hippopotas! Hippopotas can easily be found in Sludge Mound and Scarlet Bog in Crimson Mirelands or Celestica Trail in Coronet Highlands. They can be found in these areas at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
As mentioned above, the player must catch a male and a female Hippopotas. Fortunately, it is easy to distinguish the gender of the Hippopotas as the males have a light beige color and the females have a dark brown color, especially in their facial areas. Another way of knowing the Pokemon’s gender before catching it is by focusing on it by pressing the ZL button.
After catching a male and female Hippopotas, go back to Anthe in the Clothier in Jubilife Village, talk to her, select ‘About your request…’ on the prompt, and select the male and female Hippopotas you just caught to show them to her. After looking at the pair of Hippopotas, Anthe will indeed be inspired. New clothing items will be available to purchase from her, which you can immediately check after talking to her! Just like that, the ‘Inspiration from Hippopotas’ request has been completed!
Now that you have completed this request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ‘em all!
