Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

How to Complete the “Steely Lucario” Request (Request 88) in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Various people will also ask for help from the player in the form of requests. One of these requests is Request 88, titled ‘Steely Lucario.’ This guide will teach you how to complete the ‘Steely Lucario’ request.

Steely Lucario

To unlock this request, the player must first receive the ‘Atop Mount Coronet’ mission, the 17th mission in the game where the player must head to Mount Coronet’s Peak in pursuit of Commander Kamado.

After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! To do that, head on to Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village. Then, upon entering the building, the player will find a Lucario standing near the flight of stairs on the right side of the entrance. Talk to the Lucario and a man in Agriculture Corps clothing (brown) named Rye will approach the Lucario and ask if something is wrong. Rye will then introduce himself to the player and ask for his name. Then, Rye will say that it seems that Lucario sensed the player’s strong aura. So, he will ask the player to come to the Training Grounds if the player is willing to battle them. Then, just like that, the ‘Steely Lucario’ request started!

To complete this request, the player must defeat Rye and his Lucario. To do that, first, the player must head out of the Galaxy Hall and go to the Training Grounds, which can be found in the northwestern part of Jubilife Village west of the Galaxy Hall (or north of the Farm).

Upon arriving at the Training Grounds, head to the fence on the left side of the Training Grounds (near the bridge to the Farm), and there the player will find Rye and his Lucario resting under a tree (turn on the quest markers for better guidance by pressing the – button, press the Y button to open the Missions & Requests menu, press the R button to switch to the Requests tab, select the ‘Steely Lucario’ Request, then press the A button to turn on guidance. The quest markers for the request will be visible once you return to the game). Once ready to battle with them, talk to Rye and confirm on the prompt

Because the player will have to battle Rye’s Lucario, it is important to note that Lucario is a Level 62 Fighting and Steel-type Pokemon, which means it has a weakness in Fighting-type, Fire-type, and Ground-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Dark-type, Dragon-type, Grass-type, Ice-type, Normal-type, Steel type, and especially Bug-type and Rock-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Poison-type moves (no effect).

After defeating Rye and his Lucario, Rye will say that the battle was wonderful and that it seems that he and his Lucario would need to redo their training. Rye will then thank the player for the experience and say that he can tell that the player has met many Pokemon, which has helped the player become stronger. Then, he will say they will test their skills elsewhere. Finally, Rye will reward the player with one Grit Rock for your efforts, and the ‘Steely Lucario’ Request is now complete!

Now that you have completed the ‘Steely Lucario’ Request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ’em all!
