Cyberpunk 2077 has some GTA aspects implemented. You can steal cars and create mayhem throughout Night City. But can you save cars that you steal?
Night City has some cool cars, and the futuristic aspect of the game makes the car pop off in beauty. Cars in Cyberpunk 2077 feel more like spaceships than regular vehicles.
You can steal any of these vehicles, but saving them is a real issue. At the time of writing, there is no way of saving stolen cars in Cyberpunk 2077.
For the future, though, we don’t know what to expect. Even though this game can sometimes feel similar to GTA, fundamentally, it’s a different animal.
It’s hard for games other than GTA to seem different on every level. This is because Rockstar has pioneered this concept, but it doesn’t mean that these games are a rip-off of it.
It is difficult to implement those chaotic and grand theft auto aspects and make it seem “original.” Nonetheless, we have gone way off-topic.
How it Works
If you steal a vehicle that you find cool in Cyberpunk 2077, you cannot add it to your garage. You can only use that particular vehicle if you are standing near it; that way, it doesn’t despawn.
However, if you start taking some steps away from it, you can travel a certain distance until that car goes *whoosh*.
It can still despawn even if you don’t walk far from it. For example, you can leave it close to the start of a mission and start that quest, only to discover that your vehicle is gone.
We tried to look for workarounds in the community, but no people have found a way to save stolen vehicles, even though there isn’t a mechanic in the game for that. Your bought vehicles will be in your garage; you can call them wherever you are.
So, is stealing or buying cars in Cyberpunk 2077 worth it?
I’m not trying to say that stealing cars can’t be a viable strategy. On the contrary, you can get a car quickly and travel somewhere easily, but you cannot save that vehicle.
Buying cars, however, will allow you to call them wherever you like, and they’re your own. Ultimately, this game is still chaotic, so do as you please.
