Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in Hisu, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

How to Evolve Sneasel into Weavile in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

In the game, there are certain Pokemon that players cannot catch or are hard to catch in the wild. Evolution is one of the methods available to get Weavile. In this guide, you will learn how to evolve Sneasel into a Weavile!

Sneasel into Weavile

Weavile is a Dark and Ice-type Sharp Claw Pokemon that looks like both a cat and a weasel with a gray body, a red crown, a red collar, red feathers on each ear, two red tail feathers, four paws with three claws on each paw, red eyes with three eyelashes each, four fangs on its upper jaw, and a yellow oval on its forehead.

According to its Pokedex entry in the game, a pack of Weaviles corners their prey under the guidance of a leader. Additionally, Weavile shows cunning characteristics, which is why it is speculated that its evolution caused further brain development.

Weavile actually cannot be found anywhere in the wild. The only method that the player can find a Weavile is through Space-Time Distortions in the Obsidian Fieldlands. However, Weavile is a very rare find in Space-Time Distortions in the area. So, the surefire way to catch a Weavile is through evolution. To do that, the player must evolve into a Sneasel using a Razor Claw during the nighttime. First, the player should know where to find a Sneasel.

Sneasel

The player also cannot find a Sneasel in the wild. However, they can also be found in Space-Time Distortions in the Obsidian Fieldlands and are very common. Space-Time Distortions can appear at any time of the day and in every weather condition. Although rare, Sneasel can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Coronet Highlands.

If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Sneasel’s preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans.

Suppose you plan on battling a Sneasel first before catching it. In that case, which is more likely as Sneasel is found in Space-Time Distortions, it is worth noting that Sneasel is a Dark and Ice-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to the Bug-type, Fairy-type, Fire-type, Rock-type, Steel-type, and especially Fighting-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Dark-type, Ghost-type, and Ice-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Psychic-type moves (no effect).

Razor Claw

Now that the player has caught a Sneasel, all that is needed to evolve a Sneasel into Weavile is a Razor Claw. There are several ways that the player can obtain a Razor Claw:

The player may obtain Razor Claw after catching or defeating certain Pokemon, specifically, Sneasel, Sneasel, Weavile, and Weavile.

The player can purchase a Razor Claw for 10,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop between the Galaxy Hall and the player’s headquarters. However, Ginter will call it a Mystery Claw. Unfortunately, the items that the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same so that that purchasable items may vary. To change the things that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.

The player can also purchase a Razor Claw from the Trading Post near the Training Grounds for only 1400 Merit Points. The player can earn Merit Points by returning lost satchels all over the Hisui region.

Other than that, the player may find some Razor Claws on the ground inside of Space-Time Distortions, so check out the items inside them.

Out of all the methods mentioned above, the easiest way to obtain a Razor Claw is by purchasing one from the Trading Post for 1400 Merit Points.

Finally, Weavile!

After catching a Sneasel and obtaining a Razor Claw, the player can now evolve a Sneasel into a Weavile!

To do that, this is what the player must do:

  1. Put the player’s Sneasel in the Player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps, selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt, or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
  2. Then, ensure that the Razor Claw is in the player’s Satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Razor Claw to the player’s Satchel.
  3. After that, make sure that the time of day is nighttime. If not, the player can rest by interacting with the tent or the Galaxy Member in any of the Base Camps or by sleeping on the bed in the player’s quarters on the right side of the Ginkgo Guild Shop until nightfall.
  4. Afterward, return to the game and press the up-directional button to open the player’s Satchel.
  5. Select the Razor Claw, select “Use” on the prompt, then select Sneasel from the player’s party to use the Razor Claw on Sneasel.
  6. Confirm the prompt to evolve Sneasel. Then, just like that, Sneasel will evolve into a Weavile!

Now that the player has a Weavile, the player can try to use the Weavile to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player to catch ’em all!
