Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the early days of the Pokemon universe when people and Pokemon did not get along. The player will join the Galaxy Expedition Team as a member of the Survey Corps in Jubilife Village (also known as the Galaxy Team).

Where to Find an Alpha Piloswine in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

This game takes place in the Hisui region, which will eventually be renamed Sinnoh in the present-day Pokemon universe. The player must catch every Pokémon species found here to complete Hisui’s first-ever Pokédex.

There are Pokemon in the Hisui region who are larger than their usual counterparts, have flaming red eyes, and are brimming with Wild Might, which improves their battle skills and raises their stats. They are known as Alpha Pokemon.

In this guide, you will learn where to find an Alpha Piloswine!

Alpha Pokemon

The level of an Alpha Pokemon is always greater than that of its normal counterparts. Except for Mantyke and Mantine, they are all hostile, and they never run away when they see the player (except when the type of Alpha Pokemon appears during a certain time of day or if a Space-Time Distortion appears around them). An Alpha Pokemon will roar and send off a shockwave when it is close to the player. If they come near enough, the player might be stunned and knocked to the ground.

By engaging in combat with the Alpha Pokemon before throwing a Poke Ball, the player can catch it regardless of its level.

If the player’s current obedience level is substantially lower than the Alpha Pokemon’s, they can not achieve it.

However, the player can avoid battling it by sneaking up on Alpha Pokemon in tall grass or using stealth items before throwing a Poke Ball at it.

In addition, if the player is having trouble catching an Alpha Pokemon, they can boost their Star Rank, generally known as their Survey Corps rank, by completing Research Tasks and talking with Professor Laventon in any of the Base Camps.

There are three types of Alpha Pokemon in the game: fixed Alpha Pokemon that always spawn in specific locations and have a fixed level; random Alpha Pokemon that may only appear after the player calms the area’s frenzied Noble Pokemon; and Alpha Pokemon in Massive Mass Outbreaks that may appear as a second wave in the same location as the first wave of a Mass Outbreak.

We will only examine a fixed Alpha Pokemon, an Alpha Piloswine since the other two types are entirely random.

Alpha Piloswine

Piloswine is an Ice and Ground type Swine Pokemon with a large, brown, and furry body that looks like that of a furry boar, a large hump on its back, a pair of floppy ears, a pair of small eyes that are covered by tufts of fur, a round, pig-like nose, a pair of tusks that are made of ice, and four legs that are covered by its long fur.

Additionally, according to its Pokedex entry in the game, Piloswine’s long fur, which covers its eyes, ears, and limbs, allows it to resist very frigid conditions, and its white tusks are used to defeat its enemies.

An Alpha Piloswine can be found on the path east of Arena’s Approach (northwest of Bonechill Wastes or southeast of Icepeak Arena) in the Alabaster Icelands and can be found in the area mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition. The Alpha Piloswine that can be found in this location is a Level 65 Pokemon.

It is recommended to sneak up behind the Alpha Pokemon utilizing tall grass and/or other stealth items like Smoke Bombs and put the player’s Pokemon or Poke Ball on its back to catch it off guard in a fight to ensure that the player moves first.

Piloswine prefers Springy Mushrooms, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans if you intend to use food to distract it before you catch it.

Also, it is important to mention if you plan on battling it first before catching it, that Piloswine, again, is an Ice and Ground-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Fighting-type, Fire-type, Grass-type, Steel-type, and Water-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Poison-type moves (not very effective), and an immunity to Electric-type moves (no effect).

Aside from the Alpha Piloswine that is found in the location mentioned above, the regular, non-alpha, Piloswine can also be found in other parts of the Alabaster Icelands (Bonechill Wastes, north of Avalugg’s Legacy and Avalanche Slopes) and Piloswine can be found here at all times of the day and in every weather condition. Aside from that, Piloswine can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Crimson Mirelands and in the Alabaster Icelands.

Now that the player has an Alpha Piloswine, the player can now try to use the Alpha Piloswine to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ‘em all!
