Customization is the special sauce that makes Forza Horizon 4 so tasty. In Forza Horizon 4, players can paint and customize the way the cars look to almost any look they wish. Players can also make their cars go faster and handle better with the variety of mods available within the game.
The customization possibilities in Forza Horizon 4 are arguably the most sought-after aspect of the game. Players can apply custom designs and colors to match their favorite pop-culture cars such as the ever-popular Initial D Trueno complete with the Fujiwara Tofu Shop wordings on the side. Yes, you can do that in the Horizon.
There are a variety of ways players can apply liveries in Forza Horizon 4, let’s take a quick look at them today.
Almost every custom design available in Forza Horizon 4 was most likely born out from the Design Editor.
Through the Design Editor, players can apply custom shapes, lines, contours, and patterns to truly make their liveries stand out from the crowd. They can even download pre-made designs from contributors within the community.
Some of these designs emulate some of the most popular looks in popular media. Cars such as the Nissan Silvia S15 can be made to look exactly like Han’s Mona Lisa in Tokyo Drift.
If you happen to have a type of look in mind that you would like to apply to your car in Forza Horizon 4, there is surely a way to achieve that through the Design Editor.
Your personal shared liveries and other statistics related to the Design Editor can be viewed here.
Stats such as shared designs, tunes, photos, and even the number of downloaded designs you have made can be seen here.
The quickest way to get a popular design you have been craving for is through the Community Designs section.
Here, the most popular designs for a particular car will be featured. For the Nissan Skyline R34 GTR, for example, we can select designs such as Brian’s R34 Skyline from the Fast and Furious franchise. The very popular Mine’s Skyline R34 design is also featured here.
Although not quite as vast a collection as players might hope, the designs featured here most of the time are very tastefully done and does justice to the legendary designs contributors were aiming to emulate.
Simply click on the desired Custom Livery to apply. The game will automatically download and apply the Livery for you.
In case you don’t like how the Livery turned out on your car, simply click on the “Erase Paint/Decals” on the bottom right corner of the Design Editor Menu.
Custom Liveries and Decals
Players can edit and create their very own unique design through the Create and Edit Liveries section. Forza Horizon 4 offers a ton of customization options for your custom liveries such as custom Vinyl, Shapes, Stripes, etc.
Forza Horizon 4 also allows players to apply a variety of liveries on each of the different sections of the car such as the Front Bumper Area, Top/Hood area, and even the rear Wing.
The game will prompt you about how you would like to apply a layer. Players can choose from a variety of options such as Vinyl Shape, Manufacturer Decals, and more.
Forza Horizon 4 may not feature the most realistic driving experience versus the rest of the racing game genre, but it more than makes up for it with its fun and predictable but challenging gameplay.
Almost everything about a car in Forza Horizon 4 can be customized. Engine swaps, for example, are an available mod in-game, which can completely change the way a car handles and feels.
However, the seemingly endless possibilities in terms of livery customization are what make Forza Horizon 4 an amazing game in the eyes of its followers. The community aspect of the game is also a very enticing element that helps the game gain followers. The ability to share designs with other players online is an amazing tool that can help players bond and interact with one another in the Horizon.
