We have all heard of that story about your friend’s neighbor’s friend who just scored a rare and valuable classic car they found lying around in an old storage garage somewhere.

Forza Horizon 4: How to get Barn Finds

Finding a rare, low mileage cult classic for cheap is not only a get-rich-quick opportunity. Barn Finds are also an easy way of acquiring a piece of history. These barn-find stories are the most exciting and inspiring stories that the entire car and motorcycle enthusiast community wishes they could be part of once in their lifetime.

The open-world nature of Forza Horizon 4 makes Barn Finding very satisfying. Players get to experience at least 70% of the real-world barn-find experience: Getting a call from someone regarding a barn-find, driving to the location of the barn-find, seeing the car for yourself, buying and restoring the barn-find to its former glory, and finally, getting to drive the rare car of your dreams.

The whole experience makes the open-world nature of Forza Horizon 4 just a little more true to life.

If you want to find out how to acquire your very own Barn Find in Forza Horizon 4, you should read on.

Whenever a Barn Find is available in Forza Horizon 4, some guy will call you on the phone and notify you of a potential barn find. After this call, a large blue circle will be highlighted on the map.

The barn find could be anywhere within this blue circle, so you will have to manually drive to the location and search around to find the Barn.

We recommend you take your 4×4 or pickup truck on a barn-find mission because you will probably go into the woods. You would not want to scratch your Rocket Bunny NSX as we did here.

The Barn could be anywhere within the blue circle, so be patient and drive around until you find it. The best way to go about this search is by narrowing down your options. You could opt to drive around the edge of the circle, then circle it a second time, only this time you circle it at a smaller radius than the previous.

How to access the newly acquired Barn Find:

Since most barn-finds are run-down cars with tons of damage, it will take a while before your friend can successfully restore the car to its former glory.

However, once the barn-find restoration has been completed, you can access the car just like any newly bought car in your collection. Did we mention the barn-find is free of any charge? Neat!

  1. Go to the main menu by pressing ESC on your keyboard:

If you like free cars as we do, we suggest that you go on your barn-find hunt right after acquiring your first barn-find car. There are tens of cars in the barn-find collection waiting to be revealed and discovered by you. Remember to take your all-wheel-drive SUV or pickup truck so you won’t have any trouble with grip in the woods.

Barn finds in Forza Horizon 4 add a very welcomed “treasure hunt” element to the game and force players to discover more areas and locations in-game. A win-win situation in our books.

Overall, Barn hunting in Forza Horizon 4 adds a relaxing and laid-back break from the intense and competitive races. Players can chill and cruise towards the Barn find’s location and hopefully unlock a rare car! Anything is possible in the Horizon!
