How To Get the Quick Slash Charm in Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania action-adventure game that Team Cherry developed. This game recounts the story of a nameless warrior known as the Knight as they journey across Hallownest, which is now a ruined kingdom due to a strange infection. The Knight will be able to gain new abilities, spells, and charms as he travels around Hallownest.

This, then, allows them to navigate different places and battle enemies. The Quick Slash Charm is one of the most sought-after items in the game. This guide will delve deep into how to get the Quick Slash Charm. Here, we will unveil the precise steps, strategies, and locations required to secure this invaluable charm. So, ready your Nail and sharpen your wits as we embark on a journey to getting the Quick Slash Charm!

Quick Slash Charm

Charms are specialized items in the game that grant the Knight various skills and perks. To equip or unequip any Charm, the Knight must be seated on a Bench and have sufficient empty Notches. This guide will teach you all about the Quick Slash charm.

When equipped, the Quick Slash Charm reduces the total time between the Knight’s attacks by 39%. In other words, with this Charm, the Knight can perform more rapid attacks using the Nail. Also, it’s important to reiterate that, depending on the enemy, the Knight gains Soul for striking enemies with the Nail. So, with the rapid Nail striking thanks to the Quick Slash Charm, the Knight will also gain Soul faster.

To equip the Quick Slash Charm, the Knight must have three unused Charm Notches.

The Quick Slash Charm can raise the Knight’s total damage output while attacking using the Nail. In most situations, this charm can be more effective than the Fragile Strength Charm or its upgrade, the Unbreakable Strength Charm. This is because, as mentioned, it can help the Knight gain Soul faster paired with dealing more damage at a shorter amount of time.

Quick Slash Pairings

Several Charms complement the Quick Slash charm. Specifically, the following Charms:

CharmEffect
Soul Eater CharmEnables the Knight to gain even more Soul every time the Knight hits an enemy with the Nail.
Soul Catcher CharmIt also enables the Knight to gain more Soul if the Knight hits an enemy using the Nail. The Knight can stack this Charm’s effects with the Soul Eater charm.
Steady Body CharmThis disables the horizontal knockback when the Knight uses the Nail to hit foes. When used with the Quick Slash Charm, the Knight won’t get knocked back while attacking opponents rapidly.
Longnail CharmRaises the range of the Knight’s Nail by 15%.
Mark of Pride CharmAlso raises the range of the Knight’s Nail by 25%.

The Knight can find the Quick Slash charm in the southeasternmost part of Kingdom’s Edge. This Charm is inside a hidden room on a huge anvil in front of the corpse of the Ancient Nailsmith.

Requirements

The Knight must first have a few abilities to get the Quick Slash Charm. The first required ability is the Mothwing Cloak ability. This ability enables the Knight to dash forwards horizontally. The next required ability is the Monarch Wings ability. This ability enables the Knight to jump again while in mid-air. Another required ability is the Mantis Claw ability. This enables the Knight to stick and slide on vertical surfaces and jump off them.

Aside from abilities, there is also a spell that the Knight must have to get the Quick Slash Charm. This spell is the Desolate Dive or, its upgrade, the Descending Dark spell. These spells enable the Knight to attack the ground using concentrated Soul.

Also, to get the Quick Slash charm, there is an item called the Lumafly Lantern that the Knight must have. This item helps light up pitch-black rooms. The Knight must purchase this item from Sly up in Dirtmouth to get it.

Enemies

On the way to the Quick Slash Charm, the Knight will encounter a few enemies. Specifically, the Knight will run into the following: a Husk Hornhead, a Husk Dandy, a Gluttonous Husk, Vengeflies, Belflies, Booflies, Hoppers, Primal Aspids, Great Hoppers, and Hivelings.

Path to the Quick Slash Charm in Hollow Knight

The Knight must do the following to get the Quick Slash Charm:

  1. Start from the Bench in the King’s Station Stag Station. Head to the right to exit the room. In this next room, the Knight will find a Husk Hornhead, a Husk Dandy, and a Gluttonous Husk. Drop down to the bottom of the room and take the exit on the right, which has another Stagway sign.
  2. Upon entering, the Knight will find a shattered Bench, a flooding Stagway Station, and two Vengeflies. Drop down on the water and swim to the right, where the Knight will pass through a hidden path. Next, the Knight will use the Lumafly Lantern to light up this room. Also, upon passing through, there will be a dive-bombing Belfly above. Dodge or hide under the elevated platform to avoid being hit. Head up the platforms to the right, where the Knight will find two more Belflies. Exit the room at the right end of the room.
  3. After that, the Knight will arrive at the central cliff of Kingdom’s Edge! Go down the central cliff’s small platforms, where the Knight will encounter many Booflies. A pool of acid is at the bottom of the giant chasm. Go to the right and take the exit.
  4. Then, go to the right. Here, the Knight will find three Hoppers, a Primal Aspid, three more Hoppers, another Primal Aspid, and another Hopper. The Knight will find a tall wall at the end of the path. Use the Mantis Claw ability to climb up to the top of the wall. On top, go to the right, head down on the gap, and continue to the right. Here, the Knight will run into a Great Hopper. Climb up the platform after the Great Hopper, where the Knight will find another Primal Aspid. Head down the gap on the right, then continue to the right. Here, the Knight will find two more Great Hoppers.
  5. Following that, at the end of the path is another tall wall. Climb to the top of this wall, then go to the right. Here, the Knight will find a large house and a Bench. Sit on the Bench to heal the Knight and save your progress. The Knight can find Nailmaster Oro inside the house. Nailmaster Oro can teach the Knight the Dash Slash Nail Art for 800 Geo.
  6. From the Bench, go to the right and exit the room. In the next room, go to the right, and near the end of the wall, part of the floor will start rumbling. This implies that it is breakable. It is worth mentioning that the Knight can head to the right and find a Soul Totem. On top of the rumbling floor, cast the Desolate Dive or the Descending Dark spell to strike and break the ground.
  7. Afterward, go to the left upon landing, where part of the floor will rumble. There is also another Soul Totem ahead. Cast the Desolate Dive or Descending Dark spell to break the ground and head down. Upon landing, the Knight will run into two Hoppers.
  8. Next, go to the left, where the Knight will find two more Hoppers and a Primal Aspid. At the end of the path, climb up the platforms. At the top, go to the left, where the Knight will find another Primal Aspid. The Knight will also find another Soul Totem on the right.
  9. Then, stand just below where you saw the Primal Aspid; part of the floor will rumble there. On top of the rumbling floor, cast the Desolate Dive or the Descending Dark spell to break the ground and continue. Upon landing, the Knight will arrive in a room with parts of the floor filled with spikes. Here, the Knight will also find a Great Hopper. Go to the left, use the Mothwing Cloak ability to dash through the narrow path between the spikes, and exit the room.
  10. Following that, go to the left, where there is another Hopper, another Great Hopper, and a Primal Aspid. Jump up the platforms at the end of the path, where there are three more Primal Aspids and three Hivelings. Near the top, the Knight will find a path to the right.
  11. Lastly, go to the right until the Knight finds a large corpse and a giant anvil. The Anvil has something glowing on top of it. Inspect the glowing item, and the Knight will get the Quick Slash charm!

Conclusion

By obtaining the Quick Slash Charm, you have gained the remarkable ability to attack faster in battles. Your journey to find and secure this charm has tested your skills and rewarded your perseverance.
