Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Pokemon Region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Various people will also ask for help from the player in the form of requests. One of these requests is Request 104, titled ‘Battling the Security Corps’ Secret Weapon.’ This guide will teach you how to complete the ‘Battling the Security Corps’ Secret Weapon’ request.
Battling the Security Corps’ Secret Weapon
To unlock this request, the player must first complete the main story of the game with the last mission called ‘The Counterpart,’ which is the 18th mission in the game where the player must defeat and catch Dialga/Palkia and close the Space-Time Rift at the top of Mount Coronet. Additionally, the player must update the game to at least version 1.1.0.
After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! To do that, head to the Training Grounds on the northwestern part of Jubilife Village and talk to Zisu, the captain of the Security Corps. Zisu will tell the player they have an exciting member in the Security Corps, which they consider their secret weapon because she says they are a bit of a Pokemon battle master. Zisu will then ask if she can trouble the player to face their secret weapon in battle. Confirm on the prompt, then, just like that, the ‘Battling the Security Corps’ Secret Weapon’ request has started!
After that, Bren, a member of the Security Corps, will approach the player and say that she has heard of the news that there will be a face-off between two masters. She will then continue to say that she has heard that the Security Corps’ secret weapon can even defeat Alpha Pokemon. Then, Zisu will appear and say everything is set for the battle.
Zisu and the player will then head to the Front Gate and meet with Ress, the Security Corps’ secret weapon. After that, the battle against the Security Corps’ secret weapon, Ress, will commence! say that he is just an ordinary guardsman; however, as long as he stands in defense of the Front Gate, he has no intention of letting anyone defeat him. After that, the battle against the Security Corps’ secret weapon, Ress, will commence!
To complete this request, the player must defeat Ress and his Pokemon! Ress will choose the following Pokemon: Bidoof, Shinx, and Starly.
Ress’ Bidoof is a Level 62 Normal-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Fighting-type moves (super effective) and immunity to Ghost-type moves (no effect).
Ress’ Shinx is a Level 62 Electric-type Pokemon, which means it has a weakness to Ground-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Electric-type, Flying-type, and Steel-type moves (not very effective).
Lastly, Ress’ Starly is a Level 62 Normal and Flying type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Electric-type, Ice-type, and Rock-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Bug-type and Grass-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Ghost-type and Ground-type moves (no effect).
After defeating Ress and all of his Pokemon, Ress will say that this was to be expected as setting out beyond the village and battling so many Pokemon in the course of the survey Corps work has made the player very strong. He will then tell a story that his first job as a guardsman was catching some Bidoof that seemed like they wanted to infiltrate the village.
Since then, he has kept many Pokemon from passing through the Front Gate, but sometimes he would slip up, and the people would be mad at him if he let some Pokemon in. However, he eventually befriended some of the Pokemon, and it did not take a long time until they had grown stronger together.
He will continue to say that he has gained so much because he was trying to ensure that the people in the village could live safely. Finally, he will say that he has one last thing to tell the player: to stay safe if the player is heading outside the village again.
After that conversation, you will be rewarded with three Grit Rocks for your efforts. The ‘Battling the Security Corps’ Secret Weapon’ Request is complete!
