Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the olden days of the Pokemon world when harmony between people and Pokemon was rare. Set in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Region Pokemon to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will also request the player’s help. One of these requests is Request 56, titled ‘Keep an Eye on Aipom!’. In this guide, you’ll learn how to complete the ‘Keep an Eye Out on Aipom!’ request.
Keep an Eye Out on Aipom!
To unlock this request, the player must first unlock the Cobalt Coastlands area after receiving ‘The Lordless Island’ Mission, which is the tenth mission in the game where the player must quell a frenzied Hisuian Arcanine.
After doing the requirements mentioned above, you can now start this request! To do that, head to the western side of Veilstone Cape, and there you will find a man in dark blue clothing and glasses named Hiko. Talk to Hiko, and he will tell the player that a couple of Aipom stole his pack of goods and that they have been leading him on a chase like they are teasing him. Hiko will then ask the player’s help retrieving his pack from the Aipom. Then, the “Keep an Eye Out on Aipom!” request has started!
The player has to chase down the Aipoms and retrieve Hiko’s pack to complete this request. To do that, continue towards the west of the area (turn on Guidance in the Missions & Requests screen to turn on the quest marker for better, well, guidance), and there, you will see the two Aipoms. Approach the Aipoms, and a cutscene will play where the Aipoms will run away again.
Continue on the path but go slightly to the right (again, follow the quest marker for their precise location), and there you will find the two Aipoms standing there again. Approach the Aipoms, and another cutscene will play where the Aipoms will run away again.
Continue on the path but go slightly left (follow the quest marker), and there you will find the two Aipoms standing there again. Approach the Aipoms, and, finally, a battle will commence against the two Aipoms. The player must now defeat the two Aipoms!
It is worth mentioning that Aipom is a Normal-type Pokemon which means it is weak against Fighting-type moves (super effective) and immune against Ghost-type moves (no effect).
After defeating them, a cutscene will play where Hiko will retrieve his pack of goods. However, while Hiko is thinking about how to repay the player, one of the two Aipoms disappears, and the Aipom that’s left looks like it is feeling remorseful, which Hiko will notice. Then, as Hiko is telling the remaining Aipom not to play any more pranks, the other Aipom will appear behind him and start to annoy him again. After that, the two Aipoms will then run away. Hiko will then realize that the two Aipoms took his Pinap Berries, which he was saving for later. Finally, Hiko will reward the player with five Scatter Bangs and one Exp. Candy M for your efforts.
Now that you have completed the ‘Keep an Eye Out on Aipom!’ Request, you can now try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ’em all!
