How To Find Magnesium Ore in My Time at Sandrock

Welcome to the bustling world of Pathea Games’ My Time at Sandrock! In this second installment of the My Time series, the player assumes the position of Builder. The player must then strive to restore the rundown oasis town of Sandrock, located in a harsh desert setting with few resources, to its former splendor.

Here, the search for valuable resources like Magnesium Ore becomes an important part of the journey. As the player delves into this sandbox world, uncovering the land’s secrets and mastering the art of resource gathering is essential for progression.

Magnesium Ore, a prized and essential material, promises to unlock new crafting possibilities and advance your abilities. This guide will discuss how to find Magnesium Ore in the game. Here, we will navigate the landscapes and unveil the best strategies to unearth this valuable resource.

How to Find Magnesium Ore

To find Magnesium Ore, the player must know where and how to obtain it. Because of that, the following are the locations of Magnesium Ore and the requirements for obtaining it.

Location

The player will be able to find Magnesium Ore in the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins. To unlock the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins, the player must first complete “The Goat” main mission. This is the 48th mission that the player can take on in the game.

The Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins is southeast of Sandrock, farther than the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins. In the game, the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins is the third Abandoned Ruins that the player can explore. The ruins require the player a weekly fee of 500 Gols to enter. Each time the player wants to reset the ruins or any layer, the player must pay a fee of 50 Gols.

The Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins contain eleven layers for the player to check out. However, for the Magnesium Ores, the player must explore layers 5 to 11

The player will also be able to find Magnesium Ore nodes in the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins. To do that, the player must head to layers 8 to 11 of the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins.

Requirements

To gather the ores the player finds, the player must quarry them using a pickhammer. Pickhammers are used to break apart rocks and various scraps. However, certain Pickhammers can only smash a certain range of ores. The player must use stronger pickhammers to smash stronger objects.

To gather Magnesium Ores, the player must quarry them using an Iron Pickhammer. This type of Pickhammer has a Base Tool Strength of 20 and a Max Tool Strength of 31. The Iron Pickhammer also has a Base Dig Radius of 2.4 and a Max Dig Radius of 2.8. The Iron Pickhammer costs 3 Stamina per hit, just like all the other types of Pickhammers.

Aside from Magnesium Ores, the player can use an Iron Pickhammer to quarry Granite, Limestone, Moonstone, Spinel, Sulfur, Aluminum Ore, Nickel Ore, and Condensed Power Stone.

Crafting

Crafting is the method of making new products by combining crafting materials. In the game, the player must craft items as it is a major mechanic to progress. As Magnesium Ore is a raw material, it is primarily used to craft refined materials. The player can use the gathered Magnesium Ores to craft the following items:

Magnesium-Chromium Brick

The player can use the Magnesium-Chromium Brick, which is a refined material, for crafting. The player must purchase the recipe from the Commerce Guild Store for 303 Gols to craft this material. The player must complete the ‘First Impressions’ main mission to unlock the recipe.

For this refined crafting material, the player must have at least three Magnesium Ores and at least three Chromium Ores. The player must use the Civil Furnace to craft a Magnesium-Chromium Brick, which takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes of game time. Magnesium Aluminum Alloy

The player can also use Magnesium Ores to craft a Magnesium Aluminum Alloy, another refined material that the player can use to craft other items.

The player can use a couple of methods to obtain a magnesium-aluminum alloy. One of these methods is through crafting. For this, the player must have at least one Magnesium Ore and two Aluminum Ores. Also, the player must use the Industrial Furnace to craft a Magnesium Aluminum Alloy, which takes up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of game time. Crafting one of these refined crafting materials gives the player five experience points.

Alternatively, the player can also salvage and recycle an Aluminum Scrap to get one to two Magnesium Aluminum Alloys. For this, the player must use the Civil Recycler to recycle Aluminum Scraps. Doing so will take up to 2 hours and 30 minutes of game time, giving the player 60 experience points.

Also, the player can get Magnesium Aluminum Alloy as a drop from the following enemies: Logan, Pen, Yan, Commander Lefu, Communications Officer, Duvos Soldier, Rangerat, and The Magic Mirror.

As for its uses, the player can use the Magnesium Aluminum Alloy as one of the materials to craft the following items: the Drill Arm using the Intermediate Worktable, a Professional Sandfish Trap using the Advanced Worktable, an Air Purifier, an Advanced Worktable, an Industrial Furnace, an Industrial Grinding Table, and Industrial Machine Tools using the Intermediate Assembly Station, an Aluminum Alloy Plate using the Industrial Machine Tools, and an Alloy Heavy Sword, an Alloy Spear, an Alloy Sword and Shield, and Alloy Daggers using the Intermediate Forging Machine.

The player will not be able to purchase a Magnesium Aluminum Alloy anywhere. Because of that, the only way for the player to obtain this refined crafting material is through the methods mentioned above. However, the player can sell a Magnesium Aluminum Alloy for 32 Gols.
