How to Fix League of Legends & TFT Stuck on Loading Screen Bug

Writer and Storywriter

League of Legends is no stranger to issues. Most of the time, LoL has had a server-related issue. Like those times, now, there are many who are experiencing an infinite loading screen. This is completely normal, and most of the time, it is related to an underlying issue over on Riot’s servers. Sometimes though, that might not be the case.

How to Fix League of Legends & TFT Stuck on Loading Screen Bug

Infinite loading screens can happen from a lot of things. Before we get into the fixes though, you must ensure that the particular issue you’re facing isn’t because of Riot’s servers. Simply check whether they’re up and running.

First off, before anything, you should start by getting your system up-to-date. This includes your operating system, and more importantly, the GPU drivers.

Make sure both are up-to-date.

If the issue is not server-related, meaning not from Riot’s side, then you can try a couple of things first:

  • Restart your game
  • Restart your PC
  • Reset your Router
  • Use an Ethernet cable to play the game instead of Wi-Fi
  • Make sure you have a good connection
  • Run as administrator
  • Verify integrity of game files

Do The Following – League of Legends & TFT

These are all of the fixes that have been reported working in the past. Most are easy to do and self-explanatory. Do the first four and then try to launch the game.

If you’re still encountering an infinite loading screen, then try running the game as an administrator. That can be done by right-clicking League of Legends, and then hitting “Run as administrator”.

The issue might still persist after that. In those cases, you can try to see whether your install is corrupted. To do that, open up League of Legends and find the repair button on the client.

Official Fix

An official fix hasn’t yet been found for this issue, but since the newest patch launched two days ago, this issue is most likely connected to an underlying issue with the game.

Riot hasn’t acknowledged the issue, but it has affected quite a lot of players, and chances are that the developers are aware of the issue, and working on a fix, as we speak.
