One of the Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Korgu Chideh Shrine, or Korgu Chideh’s Blessing. The Shrine itself is no challenge at all. As you enter the Tawa Jinn Shrine, Link can access the shrine’s chest, access the altar, and talk to the monk immediately. The real challenge is completing the Stranded on Eventide Shrine Quest to access the Korgu Chideh Shrine. In this guide, you will learn how to complete the Stranded on Eventide Shrine Quest to access and complete the Korgu Chideh Shrine, obtain the chest inside, and claim the Spirit Orb!

Link will be rewarded with Spirit Orbs for completing Shrines. The Spirit Orbs obtained can be exchanged for more Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels. As there are 120 Shrines all over Hyrule, Link can get 120 Spirit Orbs. You get to decide whether you want Link to have more Hearts or more Stamina.

Link cannot access the Korgu Chideh Shrine immediately. Still, the shrine will emerge from the ground in the southeast end of Koholit Rock in Eventide Island, an island on the southeast end of Hyrule (east of Lurelin Village and Soka Point or southeast Hateno Village). The Korgu Chideh Shrine is one of eight shrines in the Faron Tower region.

Stranded on Eventide

To access the Korgu Chideh Shrine, Link must first complete the Stranded on Eventide Shrine Quest. To start this shrine quest, Link must first reach the Eventide Island on the very southeast end of Hyrule. Link can reach the island in various ways

  • Link can slowly reach Eventide Island by using the Cryonis Rune ability to create ice blocks and cross the Necluda Sea from Soka Point, east of Lurelin Village, to Eventide Island.
  • Link can also slowly reach Eventide Island by using a raft from Tenoko Island, south of Hateno Bay, but this method requires Link to use a Korok Leaf to move the raft.
  • Lastly (and arguably the coolest), Link can reach Eventide Island by jumping and gliding from the very end of Cape Cales, which is east of Mount Dunsel near Lurelin Village, towards Eventide Island. There will be wind blowing towards the island to help Link reach Eventide Island. This method, however, requires Link to have at least two wheels of stamina or enough stamina-replenishing food or elixirs.

Upon arriving on Eventide Island, a voice will talk to Link and give him a challenge: Link will be stripped of all his weapons, armor, and other items and go through the trial with only his wits and whatever items he may find in the island. To complete the Stranded on Eventide Shrine Quest, Link must bring three glowing orbs to three glowing orb sockets, and after that, the Korgu Chideh Shrine will appear, and all of Link’s items and equipment will be returned to him. Saving is disabled during this shrine quest, so you would have to start over from the beginning of the shrine quest if you quit or die.

Before attempting the trial, it is worth noting that there are a couple of Bokoblins on Toronbo Beach that Link can defeat (by detonating either of Link’s Remote Bomb Rune abilities to destroy the exploding barrels near the enemies before the Bokoblins notice) to get some starter food and weapons.

One of the glowing orbs can be found at the top of a tall wooden Bokoblin tower on the eastern part of the island. Link would have to defeat the Bokoblins to get the glowing orb. Once Link has the glowing orb, bring it to the northern tip of the island, and there you will find a glowing orb socket in the ocean. As Link cannot swim and carry the glowing orb at the same time, Link can throw it in the water towards the glowing orb socket, press the up directional button, select the Cryonis Rune ability, press the L button to aim, aim under the glowing orb, then press the A button to create an ice block and raise the glowing orb from the water. Next, Link must climb up the ice block and throw the glowing orb towards the glowing orb socket. Once the glowing orb is on the platform with the glowing orb socket, pick up the glowing orb and put it in the glowing orb socket. The glowing orb socket will be activated and turn blue.

Another one of the glowing orbs can be found in possession of a Hinox on the southern part of the island. Link must first defeat the Hinox before he can get the glowing orb. It is worth noting that despite Link’s lack of items and weapons, Link can still use the Champion’s Abilities like Urbosa’s Fury and Daruk’s Protection which would be greatly useful to defeat the Hinox even with Link using weak weapons. Once Link has the glowing orb, carry it to the glowing orb socket on top of the cliff on the southwestern part of the island. However, there is a Bokoblin Camp on top of this cliff with a few Bokoblins, Electric Chuchus, and a Moblin. If you want, you can defeat the enemies at the top of the cliff first before defeating the Hinox as on this method. Link can obtain more weapons to fight the Hinox. There is also a cooking pot near the glowing orb socket that Link can use. Put the glowing orb in the glowing orb socket to activate it, and it will turn blue.

The final glowing orb can be found on top of Koholit Rock which is in the southeast part of the island. Climb up to Koholit Rock, and there you will find another Bokoblin Camp with a bunch of Bokoblins and a Moblin. Defeat the monsters in the area, and you can find the glowing orb at the top of a small tower with a ladder. The glowing orb socket can be found on the southeastern part of the rock near a cliff, but a huge concrete slab blocks it. Press the up directional button, select the Stasis Rune ability, press the L button to aim, aim at the huge concrete slab that is covering the glowing orb socket, press the A button to activate it, and strike the huge concrete slab as much as you can before the timer for the Stasis Rune runs out, and, after the huge concrete slab is out of the way, put the glowing orb in the glowing orb socket to activate it.

After successfully putting the three glowing orbs on their glowing orb sockets, the Korgu Chideh Shrine will emerge from the ground on top of the cliff on the southeastern part of Koholit Rock and Eventide Island. Link’s items and weapons will be given back to him, the Stranded on Eventide Shrine Quest is completed, and Link can now access the Korgu Chideh Shrine!

Now that you have completed the Stranded on Eventide Shrine Quest, you can enter the Korgu Chideh Shrine. This shrine will no longer have a challenge or puzzle inside as the puzzle was already on trying to access the shrine. Upon entering the shrine, this is what Link must do:

  1. Upon entering the Korgu Chideh Shrine, head up the stairs, and there will be a chest. Open the chest to obtain a Gold Rupee (300 Rupees).
  2. Then, just after the chest, continue ahead and talk to the monk, and claim your Spirit Orb!

The Korgu Chideh Shrine, or Korgu Chideh’s Blessing, is one of eight shrines in the Faron Tower region. The other shrines are the Muwo Jeem Shrine or A Modest Test of Strength, the Shai Utoh Shrine or the Halt the Tilt, the Shoda Sah Shrine or the Impeccable Timing, the Qukah Nata Shrine or Qukah Nata’s Blessing, the Yah Rin Shrine or A Weighty Decision, the Kah Yah Shrine or the Quick Thinking, and the Tawa Jinn Shrine or Tawa Jinn’s Blessing.
