This guide will teach how to complete the Raqa Zunzo Shrine in the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: Raqa Zunzo Shrine Guide

One of the Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Raqa Zunzo Shrine or Raqa Zunzo’s Blessing. The Shrine itself is no challenge at all. As you enter the Raqa Zunzo Shrine, Link can immediately access the shrine’s chest and altar and talk to the monk. The real challenge is completing The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest, which must be done before Link can access the shrine. This guide will teach you how to complete The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest, complete the Raqa Zunzo Shrine, obtain the chest inside, and claim the Spirit Orb.

Link will be rewarded with Spirit Orbs for completing Shrines. The Spirit Orbs obtained can be exchanged for more Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels. There are 120 Shrines all over Hyrule, so Link can get 120 Spirit Orbs. You can decide whether you want Link to have more Hearts or Stamina.

Link will not be able to access the Raqa Zunzo Shrine immediately. Still, it will emerge from the ground just a little bit south of Gerudo Town in the Gerudo Desert (the shrine is east of the Palu Wasteland or north of the Southern Oasis in the Gerudo Desert). The Raqa Zunzo Shrine is one of12 the shrines in the Wasteland Tower region.

It is important to mention that it is very hot in the area during midday and very cold at night, so make sure that Link has heat-resistant armor, food, or elixirs for the daytime and cold-resistant armor, food, or elixirs for the nighttime.

The Undefeated Champ

As mentioned above, Link must first complete The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest to access the Raqa Zunzo Shrine. To start the shrine quest, head to the Sand-Seal Rally just outside of Gerudo Town and a little bit south (where the Raqa Zunzo Shrine will emerge), and there you will find two Gerudo women named Tali and Shabonne near a glowing orb socket. Talk to them, and Shabonne will tell Link that the great Tali does not have time to chat with anyone as she is busy focusing her energy on the sand-seal race. Then, Shabonne will ask Link if he wants to beat Tali’s record and warn Link that they do not call her Dame of the Dunes for nothing.

After asking what sand-seal racing is in the prompt, Shabonne will explain Hyrule’s pastime called sand-seal racing, a race to the finish line by surfing with a sand seal while going through arches. She will then say that Tali’s record for the race is 1 minute and 30 seconds, and if Link can beat that record, Link can have the trophy.

She will then show Link the trophy, a glowing orb she says has been passed down by ten thousand years of sand-seal-racing champions. Confirm on the prompt that Link will try to beat her record and ask Link for a registration fee of 50 rupees, as she says Link will be racing against Tali’s record. Confirm to agree on those terms, and The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest will start, and the race will also begin!

To complete The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest, all Link has to do is complete the sand-seal race in less than 1 minute and 30 seconds. This is fairly easy to do as long as you stick to the path and dash as much as possible. Also, steer with the Sand Seal in mind, not Link, so you will not get confused while steering. Link will pass through a few monster camps near the end of the race, which you can ignore and stay on the race.

After finishing the race in less than a minute and 30 seconds, Shabonne will be in disbelief that Link broke the record, and a little awarding ceremony will happen near the glowing orb pedestal. Here, Tali will speak and tell Link that she believes the glowing orb belongs to Link. Tali will then explain that this trophy is something special as their champions have passed down a legend about it for ten thousand years, which goes:

“When the holy jewel is offered unto the pedestal, the chosen one will be granted a new power.”

Tali will then say that the power mentioned in the legend has never been granted to anyone, not even her, but she senses a power emanating from Link, which she has never felt in anyone else. So, she will ask Link to try it out and then announce the new champion to everyone.

After that cutscene, let Link pick up the glowing orb, bring it up the small flight of stairs, and put it in the glowing orb socket. Once the glowing orb is in the glowing orb socket, the glowing orb will disappear, and the glowing orb socket will turn blue. Then, finally, the Raqa Zunzo Shrine will emerge from the ground just ahead of the glowing orb socket! The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest is now completed!

Now that Link has completed The Undefeated Champ Shrine Quest, Link can now enter the Raqa Zunzo Shrine. This shrine will no longer have a challenge or puzzle inside as the puzzle was already on trying to access the shrine. Upon entering the shrine, this is what Link must do:

  1. Upon entering the Raqa Zunzo Shrine, head up the stairs and open the chest to obtain a Radiant Shield.
  2. Then, just after the chest, continue to the altar, talk to the monk, and claim your Spirit Orb!

As mentioned above, the Raqa Zunzo Shrine, or Raqa Zunzo’s Blessing, is one of 12 shrines in the Wasteland Tower region. The other shrines are the Kay Noh Shrine, or the Power of Electricity; the Daqo Chisay Shrine, or The Whole Picture; the Dako Tah Shrine, or the Electric Path; the Jee Noh Shrine, or the On the Move, the Hawa Koth Shrine or The Current Solution, the Dila Maag Shrine or Dila Maag’s Blessing, the Misae Suma Shrine or Misae Suma’s Blessing, the Kema Zoos Shrine or the A Delayed Puzzle, the Suma Sahma Shrine or Suma Sahma’s Blessing, the Korsh O’hu Shrine or Korsh O’hu’s Blessing, and the Tho Kayu Shrine or Tho Kayu’s Blessing.
