How many suits can we expect for Peter and Miles in Spider-Man 2?
When it comes to superhero design, Spider-Man has got to be the most basic, what with him just being in a body suit, but this does allow the opportunity for all kinds of crazy designs to be applied to the overall look.
The first Spider-Man game from Insomniac had 47 looks for Peter Parker (including DLC and remastered skins), and Spider-Man: Miles Morales had given Miles a total of 19 skins. With Spider-Man 2, Insomniac was expected to up the ante and has delivered more than 64 costumes for Peter and Miles—74 if you consider the Deluxe Digital edition skins. Each suit has four color variations, resulting in more than 200 looks for Miles and Peter.
Take note: some costumes from the first game did make it over to Spider-Man 2. While a lot of the costumes harken to different source material from the comics, the game also has some original designs from guest artists as well as some original skins that have relevance to the game’s narrative.
Pre-Order Bonuses
Pre-ordering Spider-Man 2 will give you early access to unique skins for Miles and Peter in the form of the Arachknight Suit (Peter) and the Shadow-Spider Suit (Miles). Each suit comes with four color variations. It is available to unlock for Peter at Level 20 and Miles at Level 18.
Though the Spider-Men usually have skintight body suits, the special pre-order bonuses come with a good cape, evoking the mysterious assassin look made popular by the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Digital Deluxe Edition
Though the pre-order bonuses are early unlocks for skins that you can eventually earn in-game, the Digital Deluxe Edition of Spider-Man 2 does offer a set of 10 unique skins, with five for each Miles and Peter.
For Peter, he gets:
Tactical Suit (by Joel Mandish)
Aurantia Suit (by Raf Grassetti)
25th Century Suit (by Anthony Francisco)
Stone Monkey Suit (by Victoria Ying)
Apunkalyptic Suit (by Jerad Marantz)
Miles, on the other hand, gets:
Agimat Suit (by Anthony Francisco)
Red Spectre Suit (by Sweeney Boo)
Enc0ded Suit (by Kris Anka)
Biomechanical Suit (by Jerad Marantz)
Tokusatsu Suit (Julia Blattman)
Spider-Man 2 Suits and Variations
In the first Spider-Man game, each special suit only came with one set of colors. Still, for the sequel, Insomniac has managed to make the most of some killer designs by providing at least four color variations for every original suit introduced in the game.
The only suits that have one color are the suits that come from films like Spider-Man: Homecoming or Across the Spider-Verse. While it is kind of a waste that the movie suits don’t have color variants, they do come with some other perks. The Spider-Verse suits change the frame rate of Miles so he can look more accurate in the animated film.
Now, that’s attention to detail.
How Spider-Man 2 Suits Are Unlocked
The Digital Deluxe edition suits have been covered, so when it comes to regular costumes in the game, there are essentially two ways of unlocking them. The most basic way to unlock a suit is simply by leveling up, and as Peter and Miles rise the ranks, so does their choice in Spider-wear.
Other suits, though, need players to go off and complete missions, which can come in different forms. Some missions require you to complete different side quests or hunt for specific easter eggs. Other missions are part of the main story, and the new suit has some narrative relevance.
All Peter Parker Suits in Spider-Man 2
For Spider-Man 2, Peter starts with an upgraded version of the first game’s suit. As for his alternate skins, the game has brought back some old favorites from the first Spider-Man. Additionally, there are upgrades for some classic suits (e.g., the Scarlet Spider outfit).
Though Peter has a wide array of suits from the comics and movies, his outfits are also worn by other Spider-Men in the comics, like Ben Reilly (who is a Peter Parker clone) and Miguel O’Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099.
Level Unlock Suits:
Advanced Suit 2.0 (default starting suit) – An upgraded version of the first game’s suit, complete with the white accents and huge white Spider-logo on the chest.
Classic Suit (unlocked at level 1) – Spider-Man’s original suit from the comics with that signature red and blue look and cartoonish Spider-emblem on the chest.
Scarlet III Suit (unlocked at level 1) – An upgraded version of the classic Scarlet Spider costume. It does away with the hoodie and integrates the hood into the costume.
Advanced Suit (unlocked at level 1) – The original suit from the first Spider-Man game.
Kumo Suit (unlocked at level 5) – A Japanese-inspired take on the Spider-suit. Peter looks more like an ancient ninja out of Ghost of Tsushima (another PlayStation exclusive).
Hybrid Suit (unlocked at level 6) – A costume from Spider-Man: No Way Home, which integrates nano-tech into the final outfit from Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Amazing Suit (unlocked at level 8) – Another movie suit from the first Amazing Spider-Man film starring Andrew Garfield.
Amazing 2 Suit (unlocked at level 9) – Garfield wore this suit for the sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit (unlocked at level 11) – Not exactly Miguel O’Hara’s look from Across the Spider-Verse, but it is as close as it can get to the comic version of Miguel.
Scarlet Spider Suit (unlocked at level 14) – The classic Ben Reilly costume was available in the first game. It has the signature blue sleeveless hoodie.
Superior Suit (unlocked at level 15) – Superior Spider-Man is a comic arc that has Doc Ock take over Peter Parker’s body, which was the suit he came with.
Anti-Ock Suit (unlocked at level 17) – A story unlock for the first game, Peter uses this outfit to defeat Doc Ock, who finally fully controls his deadly arms.
Arachknight Suit (unlocked at level 20) – the pre-order suit unlocks at this level and gives Peter a more medieval Spidey look, complete with armor, a hood, and a cloak. It is Assassin’s Creed-inspired, but others think it harkens to Marvel’s Moon Knight.
Into the Spider-Verse Noir Suit (unlocked at level 22) – Spider-Noir sees everything in black and white. He was played by Nicolas Cage when he first made his big-screen debut.
Homemade Suit (unlocked at level 23) – Peter Parker’s homemade suit from Spider-Man: Homecoming has some Scarlet Spider influence but is ultimately an original look.
Spider-Punk (unlocked at level 26) – Another skin from the first game, Insomniac’s Spider-Punk is a bit more clean-cut than his animated counterpart in Across the Spider-Verse.
Secret Wars: Civil War Suit (unlocked at level 28) – A comic costume for Peter Parker from a Civil War/Secret War crossover event.
Iron Spider Armor (unlocked at level 29) – Available from the first game, the Iron Spider armor debuted in the Civil War comics. It was a gift from Tony Stark to Peter Parker.
Webbed Black Suit (unlocked at level 31) – A movie suit from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. The first onscreen symbiote outfit.
Webbed Suit (unlocked at level 32) – Another movie suit from the Sam Raimi trilogy. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man remains a fan favorite to this day.
Upgraded Classic Suit (unlocked at level 35) – A movie suit that was Spider-Man’s first debut in the MCU. Peter Parker wore this in Captain America: Civil War.
New Blue Suit (unlocked at level 38) – A modified suit from the comics, which is Peter Parker’s Fantastic Four costume changed for the Empyre event from 2020.
Upgraded Suit (unlocked at level 41) – Another movie look comes from Spider-Man: Far from Home. The black makes the costume look more like Spidey’s first comic appearance.
Stealth Suit (unlocked at level 46) – An alternate movie suit from Spider-Man: Far from Home. Ned Leeds calls him Night Monkey to protect Peter’s Spider-Man identity.
Classic Black Suit (unlocked at level 50) – The original black suit that made its debut in the first Secret Wars back in the ‘80s.
Iron Spider Suit (unlocked at level 54) – Marvel Studios’s take on the Iron Spider outfit, which made its debut in Avengers: Infinity War.
New Red and Blue Suit (unlocked at level 58) – This movie suit only had a few seconds of screentime in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but many fans love the return to form for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Black and Gold Suit (unlocked at level 60) – This movie suit comes from No Way Home and is the regular Spider-Man suit turned inside out. Peter had to reverse it because some Mysterio supporters threw paint on him.
Special Unlock Conditions:
Life Story Suit (unlocked by completing all EMF Experiments) – This suit is supposed to look like a mix between the classic Spidey costume and an astronaut suit.
Last Hunt Suit (unlocked by completing all Hunter Blinds and Bases) – It’s only fitting that you get a Kraven the Hunter-inspired outfit by completing a Kraven-focused side quest.
Saving Lives Suit (unlocked by completing all “The Flame” side missions) – This outfit should mix the Spider-Man suit and Yuri Watanabe/Wraith’s costume.
Black Suit (unlocked during the “Good Men” main story mission) – Insomniac’s version of the black symbiote suit gives Peter a little taste of the power the symbiote could bring.
Symbiote Suit (unlocked during the “It Chose You” main story mission) – A more volatile version of the black suit that has a bigger Spider logo on it, looking closer to Venom.
Anti-Venom Suit (unlocked during the “Set Things Right” main story mission) – Essentially the negative inversion of the black symbiote. It’s unlocked near the end of the main story campaign.
All Miles Morales Suits in Spider-Man 2
Miles Morales may not have been around for as long as Peter, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a lot of great options when it comes to costuming. Though Peter’s outfits draw from classic appearances, you can argue that Miles’ costumes have a little more modern flair and bring out his sense of style.
Not to mention, Miles’ costumes also have references to other looks from Marvel, like his SHIELD suit, as well as his version of Miles 2099.
Level Unlock Suits:
Upgraded Suit (default starting suit) – Like Peter, Miles starts with an upgraded version of his basic Spider-Suit.
Family Business Suit (unlocked at level 1) – This suit is named after an arc in the comics and is somewhat inspired by Miles’ criminal uncle, the Prowler.
Classic Suit (unlocked at level 1) – Miles’ original look from the comics. This was the same suit he got at the end of his own game.
T.R.A.C.K. Suit (unlocked at level 1) – An original suit from the Miles Morales game, it returns in this sequel.
Brooklyn 2099 Suit (unlocked at level 9) – Created for this game; this is Miles’ version of a futuristic Spider-Man that isn’t based on the existing Miguel O’Hara.
Sportswear Suit (unlocked at level 10) – Another costume from Miles’ spinoff game; this is the outfit he wears when he starts superheroing after receiving his powers.
Life Story Suit (unlocked at level 12) – Miles’ version of Peter’s astronaut-inspired Spider-Suit.
Miles Morales 2099 Suit (unlocked at level 13) – If Brooklyn 2099 is an original Miles outfit, this one is inspired by the OG Spidey 2099, even sporting O’Hara’s Spider-Logo.
Advanced Tech Suit (unlocked at level 16) – Another suit from the Miles spinoff game; it adds a more tech vibe to Miles’ original look.
Shadow-Spider Suit (unlocked at level 18) – The pre-order bonus suit unlocks this level. It’s Miles’ version of Peter’s Assassin’s Creed-inspired get-up, complete with cape and hood.
Miles Morales 2020 Suit (unlocked at level 19) – Based on a variant comic cover, this Miles sports a digitized mask that allows for a more animated Miles Morales Spider-Man.
Purple Reign Suit (unlocked at level 21) – Essentially Insomniac’s version of the Prowler suit, Miles gets this costume as a prize for completing side quests in his spinoff game.
Bodega Cat Suit (unlocked at level 24) – Probably the most raved-about feature of this outfit is that it gives Miles a Spider-Cat to take around, and it even helps Miles during finishers with a unique animation.
Forever Suit (unlocked at level 26) – No updates have been dropped about the Black Panther game, but Miles gets the next best thing. Though the default comes with Miles’ colors, there is a variation that makes Miles actually look like the Black Panther.
Homemade Suit (unlocked at level 27) – Every Spider-Man has a homemade suit, and this one is canonically Miles’ version of it from the comics.
Into the Spider-Verse Suit (unlocked at level 30) – Arguably the suit that put Miles Morales on the map. This outfit from Into the Spider-Verse includes visual effects options that add comic sounds and an adjusted framerate on the character animation.
Into the Spider-Verse SB Suit (unlocked at level 33) – Another suit from Into the Spider-Verse. Miles wears this on his first training session with Peter Parker. He didn’t get to use the cape, but Insomniac managed to let him keep it here.
The End Suit (unlocked at level 34) – From the comic of the same name. This is the costume of an old Miles Morales who lives in an apocalyptic world and is mayor of Brooklyn.
10th Anniversary Suit (unlocked at level 36) – Ditching the red for pink, Miles’s 10th Anniversary costume gets praise (or flak) for its high collar design that serves as a second mask.
Programmable Matter Suit (unlocked at level 37) – Polygons may not make for the most flexible design, but they still look pretty sleek in this alternate skin for Miles Morales.

S.T.R.I.K.E. Suit (unlocked at level 39) – This suit was created for the Miles Morales game and was said to be inspired by anime properties like Gundam and Kamen Rider.
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Suit (unlocked at level 40) – Miles served as a SHIELD agent in the comics, and here we get to see his Spidey with the trademark blue body suit and white gloves and boots.
Great Responsibility Suit (unlocked at level 42) – An old suit from Peter Parker, which he gives to Miles in the spinoff game. It has that touch of an early Spider-Man design, but it’s not quite there.
Across the Spider-Verse Suit (unlocked at level 44) – Mile’s new suit from Across the Spider-Verse has red along the insides for a simpler design.
Crimson Cowl Suit (unlocked at level 48) – inspired by a character in the comics who is a villain. This feels like an excuse to give Miles a costume with a hood.
Best There Is Suit (unlocked at level 52) – Insomniac’s Wolverine game may be taking its time, but that isn’t stopping the developers from giving Miles a suit inspired by everyone’s favorite healing, claw-man.
Dark Ages Suit (unlocked at level 56) – This costume comes from a comic where an alt-reality Miles has the Venom and Carnage symbiotes stuck to himself.
Absolute Carnage Suit (unlocked at level 60) – Miles gets his tiff with Carnage in the comics. This suit comes from that storyline. Who says only Peter gets to tangle with symbiotes?
Suits in Spider-Man 2 With Special Unlock Conditions:
King In Black Suit (unlocked by completing all Symbiote Nests) – This costume references the creator of the Symbiote species, Knull; it even comes with a spiral on the face, just like Knull from the comics.
Boricua Suit (unlocked by completing all Brooklyn Visions Academy side missions) – This costume is a tribute to Miles’ Puerto Rican heritage, with the flag being a prominent part of the design.
Smoke and Mirrors Suit (unlocked by completing all Mysteriums) – A hybrid of Spider-Man and Mysterio’s costume. The most unique part of the look is the fish bowl helmet filled with smoke.
Most Dangerous Game Suit (unlocked by completing all Hunter Blinds and Arsenals) – Just like Peter, Miles also gets his own Kraven, the Hunter-inspired get-up if you complete the Kraven side missions.
City Sounds Suit (unlocked by completing all Cultural Museum side missions) – Finding all the stolen instruments from the museum will win Miles an outfit that makes him look like he walked right out of a jazz band.
Evolved Suit (unlocked during the “Finally Free” main mission) – A main mission unlock that many fans think is Insomniac’s version of an original Miles suit—much like they did with Peter Parker’s suit from the first Spider-Man game.
Looking Optimistic for the Future
Though there is already a boatload of suits that come with the standard version of the game, we should expect Insomniac to add some more cosmetics going down the line. There is room for more DLC, which could come with all kinds of new skins and appearances-much like the new content that came with the City that Never Sleeps expansion with the first Spider-Man game.
Who knows, maybe some fans will want playable civilian Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the game. With fans also expectant of the animated Beyond the Spider-Verse movie, it’s likely Insomniac could release a new skin that could help boost interest in the upcoming film.
For now, though, fans have an abundance of cosmetics for Spider-Man 2, which should keep them satiated for the foreseeable future.
