Pokemon GO Fest 2020 Day 2: Guide, Details & Rewards

Are you in the Poké spirit? Pokemon GO Fest 2020 Day 2 starts at 10 AM today and runs until 8 PM tonight (your time). Day 2 is themed around Team Rocket and their elaborate plan to take over the world of Pokémon GO.  

Succeeding in the Team GO Rocket special research will unlock encounters with Victini and Shadow Mewtwo!

One thing to note: only players who bought the Pokémon Go Fest Ticket for $14.99 will be able to participate in the Special Research. Once you log on during the event period and start the research, you will have an infinite amount of time to finish it. It will not expire when Go Fest ends, so please don’t panic if you aren’t finished at the end of the day.

Team Rocket Takeover

Grunts have overrun all the PokéStops! They use weaker Pokémon than usual, but their lineups haven’t had significant changes. The Grunts also refresh, which means you can encounter Grunts at the same PokéStop multiple times.

Rocket Leaders

Team GO Rocket Leaders are using their old lineups again. Yes, again. But, they have a pre-determined lineup for all encounters.

• Sierra – Beldum, Houndoom & Zapdos.
• Cliff – Pinsir, Tyranitar & Articuno.
• Giovanni – Persian, Sandslash & Mewtwo.

• Power Up Pokemon 3 times: 100 Pokeballs
• Send 3 Gifts to Friends: 2020 Stardust
• Stage rewards: Machamp, 20x Max revives & 2020 XP.

• Take Down 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts: Weavile
• Rescue 2 Shadow Pokemon: 20 Max Potions
• Purify a Shadow Pokemon: 20 Max Revives
• Stage rewards: Golem encounter, 2020 Stardust & 20x Rare Candy.

Stage 3 of 6

• Defeat Team Leader Cliff: Shadow Articuno
• Take Down Leader Arlo: Shadow Moltres
• Defeat Team Leader Sierra: Shadow Zapdos
• Stage rewards: 1x Super Rocket Radar, 20x Revives & 5000 Stardust.

Stage 4 of 6

• Defeat Team Go Rocket Boss Giovanni: Shadow Mewtwo
• Stage Rewards: 2x Incense, 20x Ultra Balls & Victini.

Stage 5 of 6

• Claim Reward: 2020 Stardust
• Obtain Reward: 2020 Stardust
• Claim Reward: 2020 XP
• Stage rewards: 2x Incense, 20x Ultra Balls & 20 Victini candy.

Stage 6 of 6

• Take a Snapshot of Victini: 20 Victini Candy
• Catch 20 different types Pokemon: 10 Rare Candy
• Send 3 Gifts to Friends: 1 Super Incubator
• Stage Rewards: 2 Star Pieces, Victini Shirt & 2 Premium Battle Passes.

Shadow Mewtwo and Vinci can be obtained by completing Stage 4 and beyond of GO Fest 2020: Rocket Straight to Victory special research.
