In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the player is in the Hisui region, which will eventually be called the Sinnoh region in the Pokemon universe. The player will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (also known as the Galaxy Team) as a member of the Survey Corps, whose primary responsibility is to research all of the Pokemon found in the Hisui region. To understand Pokemon, the player must complete the first Pokedex, which can be accomplished by catching every Pokemon species in the region.
This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Espeon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus!
Espeon
Espeon, the 29th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Psychic-type Sun Pokemon with a slim body covered in lilac fur, a pair of purple eyes with white pupils, a small black nose, a small mouth, a pair of long and pointed ears with dark blue insides, tufts of long fur on both sides of its cheeks, a red gem on its forehead, four thin legs with stubby paws, and a thin, long tail that divides into two near the tips.
According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Espeo has an arcane power that can predict the weather and even the thoughts of humans. The red gem on its forehead also glows and builds energy when bathed in sunshine.
Basic Information
Espeon is a Psychic type Pokemon which means it is weak (super effective) to the Bug-type, Dark-type, and Ghost-type moves and resistant (not very effective) to Fighting-type and Psychic-type moves.
Espeon’s base stats are 65 HP, 65 Attack, 60 Defense, 130 Special Attack, 95 Special Defense, and 110 Speed for a total of 525.
Espeon is evolved from an Eevee when it reaches a High Friendship Level and if chosen to evolve during the day (without knowing any Fairy-type moves).
The player can increase a Pokemon’s Friendship Level by keeping the Pokemon in the player’s party, using the Pokemon in battles, not letting the Pokemon faint in battle, and using the Pokemon to gather materials from trees and ores.
Friendship Level
To check your Pokemon’s Friendship Level, go to the Friendship Checker named Belamy, found a little bit south of the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village. It is worth mentioning, however, that the Friendship Checker is not available right at the start of the game.
To unlock the Friendship Checker, the player must complete the “Measuring Your Compatibility” Request (request 28). After that, the player can talk to Belamy and select the Pokemon you want to check the Friendship Level. The following is the actual Friendship Level based on Belamy’s Description:
Friendship Level | Belamy’s Description |
Base Friendship | “[Your Pokemon] seems leery of you yet. New to the team, perhaps?” |
Low | “I suppose [your Pokemon]’s become a bit friendly toward you, but you’ve a ways to go…” |
Mid | “[Your Pokemon] seems to get on well with you. But I’m sure it could get on better!” |
High | “You and [your Pokemon] seem to be fast friends. You must be quite good companions!” |
Highest | “What an excellent pair of friends you and [your Pokemon] make. You must mean a lot to each other!” |
The player’s Eevee must be on the High or Highest Friendship Level to evolve into an Espeon.
Evolutions
Eevee can also evolve into a Flareon by using a Fire Stone, a Jolteon by using a Thunder Stone, a Vaporeon by using a Water Stone, a Leafeon when near the Moss Rock or by using a Leaf Stone, a Glaceon when near the Ice Rock or by using an Ice Stone, a Sylveon when it reaches a High Friendship Level while knowing a Fairy-type move, and an Umbreon when it reaches a High Friendship Level and evolves during the night (without knowing any Fairy type moves).
Espeon prefers Springy Mushroom, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans, so those foods are recommended to throw at it to distract it.

A Razz Berry and a Vivichoke will be dropped by an Espeon when it is captured or defeated in the wild, and they will both be given to the player.
Location
Unfortunately, Espeon cannot be found anywhere in the wild under normal circumstances. In rare cases, Espeon can appear inside Space-Time Distortions in the Alabaster Icelands.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Espeon’s Pokedex entry:
Multiplier | Research Task | Objectives |
x2 | Number caught | 1/2/3/4/5 |
Times you have seen it use Baby-Doll Eyes | 1/2/4/10/15 | |
x2 | Times you have seen it use Psychic | 1/3/8/20/40 |
x2 | Times you have seen it use an agile style move | 1/3/10/30/70 |
A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must reach Research Level 10 to be considered fully completed. To reach this level, the player must complete one of the entry’s Research Tasks, increasing the entry’s Research Level. If the player completes a Research Task objective with an x2 multiplier, the Pokemon’s entry will gain two Research Levels rather than one.
To quickly complete Espeon’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch one by evolving an Eevee once it reaches a High Friendship Level and choose to evolve it during the day, then use it in battle and Psychic in Agile Style three times.
These will tick the first objective of the “Number caught” Research Task to raise the Research Level to 2 thanks to its x2 multiplier; then tick the first and second objectives of the “Times you have seen it use Psychic” and the “Times you’ve seen it use an agile style move” Research Tasks to add eight more Research Levels thanks to both of their x2 multipliers, which will help make it reach Research Level 10.
