Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a role-playing action game with a semi-open world that adds a fresh spin to the well-known franchise. Rather than competing in Pokemon Gyms and becoming a Champion, the player in this game will join the Galaxy Expedition Team, also known as the Galaxy Team, as part of the Survey Corps to study the Pokemon found in the Hisui region. One of the player’s main tasks is to complete the Pokedex by catching and studying every Pokemon in the region.
This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Vespiquen!
Vespiquen, the 71st Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Bug and Flying type Beehive Pokemon with a large body that is colored yellow and black and resembles a bee’, a yellow and black striped abdomen that resembles a ball gown from its thin black waist, underneath its ball gown abdomen are seven orange cells that resemble honeycombs, a pair of black arms with two small orange claws on each hand, a pair of small wings, a yellow front, orange sides, and black back, round thorax where its arms and wings are connected to, a pair of red eyes with white pupils, yellow mandibles with black tips connected to its horns, and a large red gem on its forehead. Vespiquen directs its followers to construct its hive, according to its Pokedex entry in the game. Vespiquen will also eliminate intruders attempting to enter its nest and consume them for food.
Vespiquen is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon. Hence, it has a weakness to Electric-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, Ice-type, and especially Rock-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Fighting-type, Grass-type, and especially Bug-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Ground-type moves (no effect).
Vespiquen’s base stats are 70 HP, 80 Attack, 102 Defense, 80 Special Attack, 102 Special Defense, and 40 Speed, for a total of 474.
Vespiquen evolved from a female Combee when it reached Level 21.
Vespiquen’s preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans, which can be great foods to throw to it if the player wants to lure it before catching or battling it or simply feeding it food.
Once a Vespiquen is caught or defeated in the wild, it will drop a Seed of Mastery and an Exp. Candy M, which the player will receive.
Vespiquen can be in locations mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition. The player can find a Vespiquen in these locations:
Crimson Mirelands: Cottonsedge Prairie, Droning Meadow, and Lake Valor.
It is worth noting that the Vespiquen found north of Cottonsedge Prairie is a Level 61 Alpha Pokemon, and it can also be found here at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
The following are the Research Tasks in Vespiquen’s Pokedex entry:
|Number of heavy specimens you have caught||1/2/3/5/7|
|Number you have defeated with Fire-type moves||1/2/4/10/15|
|Times you have seen it use Air Slash||1/3/6/12/25|
|x2||Times you have seen it use Big Buzz||1/3/8/20/40|
|Times you have seen it use an agile style move||1/2/4/10/15|
|x2||Number you have seen leap out of trees||1/2/3/4/5|
A Pokemon’s Pokedex entry must have a Research Level of 10 to be considered complete. The player can increase the entry’s Research Level by one by completing one of the objectives of a Research Task. In addition, completing a Research Task objective with a multiplier of x2 earns the entry two Research Levels rather than one.
To quickly complete Vespiquen’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch the Alpha Vespiquen in the Crimson Mirelands, then use it in battle and use Bug Buzz in agile style four times. These will tick the first objective of the “Number Caught” Research Task and raise two Research Levels because of its x2 Multiplier; tick the first objective of the “Number of heavy specimens you have caught” Research Task to add one more Research Level tick the first and second objectives of the “Times you have seen it use Bug Buzz” Research Task which adds four Research Levels thanks to its x2 multiplier and tick the first, second, and third objectives of the “Times you have seen it use an agile style move” Research Task to gain three more Research Level, to get to Research Level 10
Vespiquen can learn new moves by heading to the Training Grounds or leveling up.
Vespiquen can learn and master the following by leveling up:
|Move||Type||Learn Level||Master Level||Power||Accuracy||PP|
By speaking with Captain Zisu in the Training Grounds, which are situated in the northwest corner of the Jubilife Village, Vespiquen can learn these moves:
|Ominous Wind||Ghost type||60||100||15|
Vespiquen can be a great ally and help to the player when completing missions, requests, or Arceus’ quest for the player to catch ’em all!
