Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is an open-world game in which the player takes on the role of a transferee at a large school in the Paldea Region.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet: Path of Legends Final Battle (Arven) Guide

In the game, the player is the only one who may decide what to do: defeat all of the Pokemon Gyms, become the champion, and become the very best like no one ever was, battle the sinister Team Star, simply complete the Pokedex and catch them all, or track down the mysterious new Titan Pokemon!

Here, we will discuss how to complete the “Path of Legends” questline. Specifically, we will discuss how to beat Arven himself!

Location

After defeating the fifth and final Titan Pokemon in the Paldea region, Arven’s Mabosstiff will be back to full health.

The player’s Koraidon or Miraidon has regained all of its powers except for the power to battle, thanks to the Herba Mystica that the player and Arven found.

Because of that, Professor Sada or Professor Turo (depending on the player’s version of the game) will call the player and ask Arven and the player to head to the lighthouse lab in Poco Path as they need Arven to enter the lab.

Head to the lighthouse lab in Poco Path, which is in the southeast of Los Platos or northeast of the player’s house (the lighthouse where the player first met Arven).

The player can fly directly to the lighthouse lab, as the player has been there before, by selecting it on the player’s map.

Upon arriving at the Poco Path Lighthouse, a cutscene will play Arven and give a little backstory about his relationship with Professor Sada or Turo and that all they do is work and never come home.

Then, Arven will unlock the door to the lab and let the player head in.

After that, another cutscene will play where Arven and the player are inside the lab, but the lab is empty. The computers inside the lab will turn on, and Professor Sada or Turo will talk to Arven and the player through the computer.

Professor Sada or Turo will then tell Arven and the player that they need Arven’s help as they are in the deepest part of Area Zero, which is in the Great Crater of Paldea.

They need Arven and the player to lend a hand to carry out the final step of their research, which is about the unique Pokemon in the area.

However, Professor Sada or Turo will continue that there is something they need. First, the Scarlet/Violet Book (again, depending on the player’s version of the game) can be found inside the lab.

Arven will then reveal that he has the book all along, so Professor Sada or Turo will ask Arven and the player to bring the book to the deepest part of Area Zero in the Great Crater of Paldea.

However, Professor Sada or Turo will warn that Area Zero is home to a lot of vicious Pokemon filled with powerful security systems, so they will suggest that Arven and the player gather allies for the journey.

After a few bits of dialogue from Arven, he will ask the player if the player will go, so select any of the responses from the prompt, and Arven will decide to go with the player too.

So, head outside the lighthouse lab, approach Arven and his Mabosstiff just in front of the lighthouse, talk to Arven, confirm on the prompt (make sure to heal up your Pokemon before doing this), then Arven will also ask his Mabosstiff if it is ready.

Select any of the choices on the prompt, and Arven will tell the player not to worry about him and his Mabosstiff. After that, a battle against Arven will commence!

After that, Arven will tell the player that they will have a Pokemon Battle to see if Arven and the player are ready to head to Area Zero.

Arven will use six Pokemon, a Level 58 Greedent, a Level 61 Toedscruel, a Level 60 Scovillain, a Level 62 Garganacl, a Level 59 Cloyster, and a Level 63 Mabosstiff.

As Arven’s Pokemon range from Level 58 to 62, it is recommended that the player’s Pokemon are Level 63 and above to make beating Arven and all his Pokemon easier.

Greedent

With all that in mind, it is important to mention that Greedent is a Normal-type Pokemon which means that it has a weakness to Fighting type moves (super effective) and an immunity to Ghost-type moves (no effect).

Arven’s Greedent would use the following moves: Body Slam, which is a physical Normal-type move with 85 Power and 100 Accuracy that, aside from dealing damage, also has a 30% chance of paralyzing the opposing Pokemon; Bullet Seed, which is a physical Grass-type move with 25 Power and 100 Accuracy where the Pokemon using the move will hit the player for two to five times (37.5% chance to hit the opposing Pokemon two times, 37.5% chance to hit three times, 12.5% chance to hit four times, and 12.5% chance to hit five times), Earthquake, which is a physical Ground type move with 100 Power and 100 Accuracy that will hit all of the Pokemon in the battlefield and even double the damage if a Pokemon used the move Dig, and Psychic Fangs, which is a physical Psychic type move with 85 Power and 100 Accuracy that, aside from dealing damage, also destroys the protective barriers that are active in the battlefield.

Toedscruel is a Grass and Ground-type Pokemon, which means it has a weakness to the Bug-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, and especially Ice-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Ground-type and Rock-type moves (not very effective), and an immunity to Electric-type moves (no effect).

Arven’s Toedscruel will use the following moves: Spore, which is a Grass-type status move with 100 Accuracy that puts the opposing Pokemon to sleep; Power Whip, which is a physical Grass-type move with 120 Power and 85 Accuracy; Earth Power, which is a special Ground-type move with 90 Power and 100 Accuracy that, aside from dealing damage, also has a 10% chance of lowering the Sp. Scovillain is a Grass and Fire-type Pokemon, which means it has a weakness to Flying-type, Poison-type, and Rock-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Electric-type, Fairy-type, Steel-type, and especially Grass-type moves (not very effective).

Arven’s Garganacl would use the following moves: Stealth Rock, which is a Rock-type status move where rocks will be set on the opposing Pokemon’s area in the battlefield and deal damage to all the opposing Pokemon that will be sent out (the damage amount depends on the opposing Pokemon’s weakness or resistance to Rock-type moves), Body Press, which is a physical Fighting-type move with 80 Power and 100 Accuracy where, instead of the Attack stat, the Defense stat of the Pokemon using the move is used to calculate the amount of damage that will be dealt, Earthquake, which is a physical Ground-type move with 100 Power and 100 Accuracy that will hit all of the Pokemon in the battlefield and even double the damage if a Pokemon used the move Dig, and Stone Edge, which is a physical Rock-type move with 100 Power and 80 Accuracy that, aside from dealing damage, is also an attack that has increased the Critical Hit ratio by one stage.

Arven will also terastallize Mabosstiff, which has a Dark-type Tera type, so its Dark-type moves will be boosted.

Path of Legends Complete!

After defeating Arven, he will say that he admits they will need some more support when heading to Area Zero, so he will suggest that they need two more people with Champion Rank-level skills and someone who can deal with crazy tech.

Select any of the responses from the prompt, and Arven will give a reply that is appropriate to the person the player is suggesting.

After that, the “Path of Legends” questline is now complete! All the player needs to do is to complete the “Starfall Street” questline and the “Victory Road” questline to head to Area Zero in the Great Crater of Paldea!
