In the open-world video game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the player assumes the position of a transfer student at a huge academy in the Paldea Region. The player is the only one who can choose what to accomplish in the game, whether it be to defeat every Pokemon Gym, finish the Pokedex and catch every Pokemon, search for the enigmatic new Titan Pokemon, or dissolve the mysterious Team Star.
In this guide, the player will learn how to complete the “Starfall Street” questline from start to finish!
The Beginning of Starfall Street
The ‘Starfall Street’ questline will start once the player receives a call from someone named Cassiopeia while roaming around during the player’s first time in the academy. Cassiopeia will say that the player has serious potential, so Cassiopeia will ask the player to help them with their plan to take down and disband Team Star, which Cassiopeia will explain is a group of troublemakers that was formed by some students, that they are a headache for the school, and that they try to bring other students down to their level. Cassiopeia will call this ‘Operation Starfall’ and, as they need allies to carry it out, ask the player to be one of them.
Then, after Director Clavell sends the students to their Treasure, Arven and Nemona will argue about whether the player should check out the Pokemon Gyms or the Titan Pokemon when the player receives another call from Cassiopeia, who explains that Team Star is made up of five individual squads with each one having their own base.
Cassiopeia will say that they need the player to head to all five squad bases and beat each of the squad’s bosses, who will each specialize in a Pokemon type. Cassiopeia will then add the squad bases’ location on the player’s map. After that, the ‘Starfall Street’ questline has now started! Cassiopeia will continue that the Team Star’s grunts will try to get in the player’s way, but Cassiopeia will help from a distance.
In these squad bases, the player will participate in a new mechanic called the Star Barrage, where the player would have to battle many Pokemon within the time limit. To do so, the player must use the R button to summon multiple Pokemon, specifically the first three Pokemon in the player’s party, and have them battle the Grunts’ Pokemon simultaneously.
The player will lose if all of the player’s Pokemon run out of HP or the timer runs out. The player can retreat and give up by pressing the Y button before the timer runs out. Again, there is a total of five Squad Bases, and the following is the recommended order of Team Star Squad Bases to take on:
1. Segin Squad
The Segin Squad is Team Star’s Dark Crew and has Giacomo, who runs the whole of Team Star and even produced the team’s soundtrack himself, as the squad’s Boss. Giacomo and the rest of the Segin Squad will mainly use Dark type Pokemon.
According to Cassiopeia, Giacomo is a sharp guy, so even Operation Starfall’s declaration of war against Team Star will not have ruffled Giacomo.
Location
The base of Team Star’s Dark Crew is in the northeastern part of West Province (Area One) just before the player can reach the Cascarrafa (or way north of Cortondo, the first city west of Mesagoza).
Grunt Battle
The Team Star Grunt at the gate of the Dark Crew’s Base will only use one Pokemon: a Level 19 Murkrow, which is a Dark and Flying-type Pokemon, so it has a weakness against Electric-type, Fairy-type, Ice-type, and Rock-type moves (super effective), a resistance against Dark-type, Ghost-type, and Grass-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Ground-type and Psychic-type moves (no effect).
Upon arriving at the gate of Segin Squad’s base, the player will have to battle one of Team Star’s Grunts before entering the Squad base.
Star Barrage
After defeating the Team Star Grunt, head towards the base’s gate, interact with the bell with the glowing button, confirm on the prompt to challenge Team Star’s Dark Crew, and the Star Barrage against the Segin Squad will begin!
Here, defeat 30 of the Dark Crew’s Pokemon within 10 minutes to face their boss, Giacomo. The Segin Squad’s Grunts in the base will mainly use Dark Pokemon so that they will use a lot of Sneasel, Sableye, Pawniard, Nymble, Stunky, Zorua, Murkrow, and Sandile.
It is recommended that the player use Pokemon that are Level 22 and above with Bug-type, Fairy-type, and Fighting-type moves, as these moves deal super effective damage to Dark-type Pokemon to easily defeat the Grunts’ Pokemon inside the Dark crew’s base.
Giacomo
After the Star Barrage against the Dark Crew, the player will face their Boss, Giacomo. Giacomo will only use two Pokemon: a Level 21 Pawniard and a Level 20 Segin Starmobile, a Dark-type Revavroom.
Pawniard is a Dark and Steel-type Pokemon which means that it has a weakness to Fire-type, Ground type, and especially Fighting-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Dark-type, Dragon-type, Flying-type, Ghost-type, Grass-type, Ice-type, Normal-type, Rock-type, and Steel-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Poison-type and Psychic-type moves (no effect).
Giacomo’s Pawniard will use the following moves:

The Segin Starmobile has the Ability called Intimidate, which lowers the opposing Pokemon’s Attack stat by one stage whenever the Pokemon with the Ability enters the battlefield.
As Giacomo’s Pokemon are Level 20 and 21, it is recommended that the player will use Pokemon that are Level 22 and above with Fighting-type moves to easily defeat Giacomo and his Pokemon as Fighting-type moves deal super effective damage to both of Giacomo’s Pokemon.
Rewards
After defeating Giacomo and the rest of the Segin Squad, Giacomo will give the player a Star Badge and TM062, which is a move called Foul Play. Foul Play is a physical Dark-type move that deals damage to the opposing Pokemon based on its Attack stat; therefore, the higher the opposing Pokemon’s Attack stat is, the greater the damage.
