Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the brand new platform video game developed by Insomniac Games and distributed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was released EXCLUSIVELY for PlayStation 5. It is played in a third-person perspective, this is already familiar to us since the previous games of this saga also had this same game mode.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart: How to Wall-Run?

One of the things that makes this game interesting and more attractive is that Insomniac Games has said it is built to be a standalone story, what it means that if this is your first Ratchet & Clank game, you’ll still be able to enjoy it because is independent to other previous installments.

However, this game has many great mechanics that will allow you to unfold more broadly throughout the story. One of these mechanics is the much-mentioned Wall Run, and on this page, you will learn how to unlock it and make use of it.

How to unlock wall-run?

As we mentioned previously, you’ll find out how to unlock the wall run option, if all walls can be used for running, and what are the dangers of wall running.

The earliest that wall running appears in the game is after you reach Nefarious City, the large metropolis visited after completing the prologue. This is when you’ll start coming across wall plates with arrows painted on them. Just remember: these are the only places that allow you to perform a Wall Run. It won’t be possible in any other locations.

Wall Run will be not available right away, but you can unlock it quite early on. To make progress in the main history, the only thing you have to do is to meet the Spectre in Nefarious City. He will give you a glove from a really good looking NPC, which will unlock the mentioned game mechanic.

From now on, you can jump to walls with painted arrows and hold down the jump button (X). This will cause Ratchet to start a wall run. This action will also be automatically available to Rivet later on in the game. (Important Fact: Ratchet and Rivet share all skills).

Don’t forget this: You must be aware that Wall Run involve running over a precipice in many places. (DON’T LET GO OF THE SPRINT BUTTON TOO SOON).

There will be much more difficult wall running puzzles later in the game; like jumping between the walls on the left and right, or run on the lower or higher part of the wall to avoid a bunch of obstacles along the way.

Fortunately, most of these difficulties are not linked to the the main storyline progress. In the end, it depends on exploring optional locations.
