Resident Evil Village is finally here, and the game is nothing short of legendary. Whenever a player starts off the game though, they will be greeted with the difficulty screen. But which difficulty is for you? It is always tough determining this whenever you start a game, since choosing the right difficulty might make or break your experience. Today, we will talk about what you should take into consideration when choosing a difficulty in Resident Evil Village.
Which Difficulty is For You – Resident Evil Village
There are four difficulty options in Resident Evil Village:
- Casual;
- Standard;
- Hardcore;
- Village of Shadows.
Casual
The easiest difficulty is casual. With this difficulty, players have much more leeway when it comes to focusing on the story, and exploring the world in Resident Evil Village.
So, if you want to have the most laid-back playing experience, we recommend this mode. It isn’t as though it is easy to the point of not being challenging. It has a beautiful balance of exploration possibility and challenge.
Standard
This is the one that many go for, and instead of leaning towards exploration and story more, this mode leans towards challenge. Again, like casual, it is a balance between story/exploration and challenge.
If you want the game to be more action packed, and you don’t necessarily care that much about exploration, then this mode is for you.
Hardcore
Now, this is the mode that many are hesitant of starting with, and they should. Many that started with this mode before beating the game once on Standard, don’t have an easy time.
It isn’t recommended if you haven’t beat the game at least once and are aware of the mechanics, the combat system, items, and everything really. So, we recommend that you have an adequate knowledge of the game before going hardcore.
However, some that are, well, hardcore, can choose it. If you want to be sitting on the edge of your chair, choose this mode.
Village of Shadows
This difficulty mode will unlock only after beating the game once. Now, if Hardcore was challenging, Village of Shadows is out of this world. However, it acts as a game plus, which means that you can have your progress from the previous times you have beaten the game.
This mode is if you want to ‘grind’ the game, in every sense of the world. We highly recommend going through the game twice before doing Village of Shadows though.
