Historically, gold has always been a precious metal, and this status is also apparent in video games like Spellbreak. As the game’s premium currency, you can spend gold on the various cosmetic items the shop carries and Chapters. However, you will have to earn enough first.

Spellbreak: How to Get Gold

The best way to get gold is to purchase some via microtransactions, but that is not for everyone. Other players can still earn some without breaking the bank, and you can find all possible methods below. Read on for all the details.

How to Get Gold in Spellbreak?

Gold is used to buy cosmetic items in the shop, which change once. The item categories are:

  • Outfits

None of these offerings give you a tactical advantage during a fight, but they only affect your appearance. For some players, their costumes are worth the money.

In addition, you can also purchase Chapter Passes for 1,000 gold. Doing so will allow access to all of a Chapter’s rewards and other Honor Quests.

Below are the ways to obtain gold in Spellbreak.

Microtransactions

As mentioned earlier, buying gold with money is the ideal way above all others. You get lots of gold instantly and do not have to grind for it in the game. There are a few bundles, such as:

  • 1,000 gold for $9.99;
  • 2,500 + 300 gold for $24.99;
  • 4,000 + 1,000 gold for $39.99;
  • 10,000 + 3,500 gold for $99.99;

Spellbreak’s gold is not cheap, so there are several other methods of earning it for free. The amount might not be much, but you will eventually earn enough if you play this game for a long time.

Level Up

Players have Mage Ranks and Class Mastery Ranks they can progress through. The former isn’t bound to a particular class but is your overall level gained by playing the game. On the other hand, Class Mastery Ranks are tied to specific classes you eventually unlock.

There are 100 Mage Ranks, and 20 Class Mastery Ranks for each class.

Every time you gain a Mage Rank, you get 50 gold, and you can earn almost 5,000 gold from leveling up alone. However, 100 levels are a long way to go, and if you want to get there quick, you must play and win often.

Classes are unlocked when you reach specific Mage Ranks. Other than the default Pyromancer class, there are five more, including:

  • Stoneshaper

  • Conduit

  • Frostborn

  • Tempest

Each class has 20 Class Mastery Ranks, which will let you earn 1,800 gold. You get some gold at Class Mastery Ranks 10, 12, 15, and 19. The other rewards are all cosmetic items.

Progressing through Mage Ranks will require much time. You should try hard to survive because the XP you earn is tied to your performance. Eliminating other Mages will also give you an XP boost.

Another goal you can set is to make it to the top 20 placements, granting you more XP than dying earlier. However, if you die too early, don’t give up and queue up for another match. Perhaps your next one will go well.

After you level up more, you gain access to newer classes and skills. Mix and match your abilities to create your ideal play style. The more comfortable you are, the better you will perform in battle.

Completing Your Daily Quests

Daily Quests are small tasks the game assigns to you every day. While you can reroll one each day, you are stuck with them until they refresh. Thankfully, these tasks are not too demanding.

Some examples are:

  • Deal 1,000 damage
  • Open 25 chests
  • Exile five enemies
  • Finish one Battle Royale match in the top five
  • Activate three Mana Vaults

Depending on each Daily Quest’s difficulty, you earn a certain amount of gold. The least you can get is five, while something more challenging like finishing in the top five will give you 20. Medium-difficulty tasks have a reward of 10 gold instead, an excellent middle ground.

Every day, you get three of them to complete. If you feel lucky, you might reroll and get a new one that rewards you with 20 gold. That will increase your profit, but remember that rerolling is random, just like what the game assigns you every day.

Additional FAQs

What Does Gold Do in Spellbreak?

Gold has only one purpose in Spellbreak: to let players purchase cosmetic items. They do not make winning any more accessible but will change certain aspects of your appearance. There are not many other places where you can use gold.

How Much Does Spellbreak Cost?

Nothing, as Spellbreak is an entirely free-to-play third-person shooter. You only have to download it on the platform of your choice before you start playing. Microtransactions are optional and will not prevent you from playing if you avoid them.

Can You Earn Gold in Spellbreak?

With dedication and lots of playing, you can earn gold in Spellbreak. Leveling up is the best source of gold, but that source will eventually run dry. Thus, after reaching max rank for all relevant progression systems, the only way to earn gold for free is to complete Daily Quests.

How Do You Level Up Fast in Spellbreak?

Leveling up in battle royale titles is often tied to your performance in matches, and Spellbreak is no exception. You gain more XP when you place higher and exile more Mages. If you win, you get even more XP for quicker level-ups.

What Is the Best Class in Spellbreak?

Spellbreak is an ever-evolving game thanks to constant updates, making answering this question tricky. Tempest is the best class, though Pyromancer is also a strong contender. As the game receives newer content, the rankings may change.

For example, Stoneshaper was once hailed as the best class, but it received some nerfs that lowered its placing drastically.

What Is the Max Level in Spellbreak?

For Mage Ranks, it is 100, but each class has a maximum of Rank 20. There is no rank reset system in Spellbreak, and when you max out either of these progression systems, there is nothing more to level up. That is until the developers add something new.

Is Spellbreak Available on Steam?

Yes, Spellbreak is available on Steam. You can also get it from the Epic Games Store and Xbox One. The game is free on all three platforms.

That is a Cool Costume

If you do not mind spending a small amount of money on gold, you can always buy some occasionally. The game receives new cosmetic items every so often as they come from the shop. Even the methods of earning gold in Spellbreak are not too difficult, making it a valid option. If you want a Chapter Pass, it is also yours for 1,000 gold.
