The developers behind Splitgate describe the game as “Halo meets Portal,” and they couldn’t be more correct. Like many free-to-play (FPS) titles, Splitgate allows players to purchase cosmetics, but you can also get them for free. These skins come from drops, which are earned in several ways.

How to Get Drops in Splitgate

If you want to learn how to get drops in Splitgate, you’ve come to the right place. While the cosmetic items don’t give you inherent advantages, having a cool skin for your character or weapon is always a welcome bonus.

Getting Drops in Splitgate

You can always spend money and buy more drops in Splitgate, but not everyone is willing to do that. Some players are entirely opposed to spending, while others fall into the “low-spender” category. Regardless, there’s something for everyone in the methods below.

Here are the several ways for obtaining drops in Splitgate:

Logging in Every Day

Splitgate has a daily login reward system, and you can get various prizes for doing so daily. Every fourth day you log in will let you earn a drop. After you play seven days in a row, the streak will reset, and you can rinse and repeat.

Thus, even if you don’t play matches every day, you’re guaranteed one drop per week. It’s not a lot, so if you want more drops, you must play regularly.

Every seven days, you also earn 100 Splitcoins, which you can spend on drops themselves. If that sounds like a good deal, don’t miss out on your daily logins.

Leveling Up

lvl.up

As Splitgate is currently in open beta, players can only level up 10 times. Each level up will yield a drop for a total of 10 of them thus far. To level up, players have to keep playing and winning.

Completing daily and weekly challenges will also increase level-up speeds.

Clear Daily or Weekly Challenges

weekly challenges

Currently, Splitgate has daily and weekly challenges, which you complete by following their instructions. Occasionally, the challenges’ rewards will be free drops, though they aren’t a common occurrence.

The challenges are usually tasks such as killing other players, which you can do easily in a few matches.

Typically, one beats these challenges for the XP they yield, which helps with leveling up. It’s still wise to complete any challenges you encounter, as you’ll never know if a drop is on the way.

Buying the Arena Pass

Low-spenders will love this method, as they can earn extra rewards from the Battle Pass. Currently, for every four tiers on the Arena Pass, you get a drop. Sadly, this only lasts until Tier 12.

In all, you can get three drops this way. The developers will likely change this in the future when they work on the game further.

Opening Your Drops

To open your hard-earned drops, open the Reward Center. It’s also possible to check your login progress and streak status there.

What’s Inside This One?

After playing the game for a long time, you might get bored of seeing the same weapon skins over and over. Weapon and character skins can help the game look fresh with a few button presses. Best of all, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on cosmetics.

Splitgate is currently in open beta, and it’s not easy to get drops now. As the game gets closer to officially releasing, we expect more drop availability, especially with the Arena Pass and leveling up.
