The AS VAL is a Russian made Assault rifle added in Season 6 of Modern Warfare. You’ll find that it has a high fire rate and has a faster TTK than some other assault rifles close up. The drawback is the weapon’s high recoil and small magazine size. If you’re able to well utilize AS VAL weapon in close quarters, you’ll quickly climb the ranks of the Warzone.
Let’s see what are some best loadouts for AS VAL in Call of Duty Warzone!
Best Warzone Loadout | Mid to Short Range
Attachments:
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip
- Ammunition: 30 Round Mags
- Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape
- Stock: VLK Strelok
Perks:
- Double Time/EOD
- Ghost
- Tracker
Equipment:
C4/Semtex
Stun Grenade/Heartbeat Sensor
Why use this loadout?
If you’re running close up onto enemies or engaging from behind cover, this setup might be one of your best options. The Operator Foregrip and Rubberized Grip Tape both provide bonuses to your recoil control, while the VLK Strelok stock gives you an additional bonus and compensates for the stat decrease of the Foregrip and Rear Grip. As the AS VAL by default comes with a 20 round mag, you’ll probably want to have the 30 rounder for a bit more leniency when it comes to aim. The Tac Laser is the best attachment to use for higher ads, as it doesn’t give you any stat penalties, and only reveals you while you’re aiming down the sight.
Some alternate attachments that may be beneficial are the Merc Foregrip or an optic. The Merc Foregrip provides recoil control and an additional hip-fire accuracy bonus, additionally reducing your aim walking speed. Though, if you’re getting close enough to utilize this hip-fire accuracy bonus, you likely don’t care for that stat anyways. An optic would be beneficial if you’re engaging at mid-range, as the VAL’s iron sights leave much to be desired at that range.
As for your perks, Double Time or EOD are your best choices in that slot, as Double Time allows you to close distances or get to cover quickly, while EOD allows you to survive those pesky C4 spammers. Ghost is the best perk to use as it hides you from UAVs and Heartbeat sensors, though if you trust your aim enough you can slot in High Alert or Overkill for a secondary weapon. Tracker is a great perk for information when you’re in a mobile gunfight in a building, but you can use Battle Hardened instead if you find yourself running into a lot of Stun Grenades or Flash Grenades.
For your equipment, anything that can help you do damage will be beneficial for your low magazine size, while the Stun Grenade allows you more easily and safely take down enemies if you manage to make a hit. The Heartbeat Sensor is useful for catching out any enemies that are freshly dropped with no perks, or anyone who happens to not be using Ghost. You could replace your lethal equipment with Claymores or a Proximity Mine if you prefer to hunker down over running and gunning.
CQB Warzone Loadout
Attachments:
- Laser: 5mW Laser
- Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip
- Ammunition: 30 Round Mags
- Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
- Barrel: Stovl SOF
Perks:
- Double Time/EOD
- Ghost
- Battle Hardened
Equipment:
- C4/Thermite
- Stun Grenade/Heartbeat Sensor
Why use this loadout?
Unlike other ARs, the AS VAL has fewer attachments options that grant additional movement speed. However, the AS VAL’s base movement speed rivals that of some SMGs, but loses out to meta options such as the MP5. The 5mW laser provides a large boost to your hip-fire accuracy, but it does reveal your position if you’re holding an angle. The Stippled Grip Tape, Laser and Stovl SOF Barrel provide bonuses to your Sprint to Fire speed, so those are ideal for jumping around corners and hosing down anyone on the other side. The Foregrip makes it easier for you to control the weapon when you’re sustaining fire, and the 30 Round Mag allows you to down a few enemies before having to reload.
If you’re going to be utilizing this weapon’s mobility to the fullest, you’ll want either Double Time or EOD to help you out at those distances, along with Battle Hardened so you aren’t slowed down for too long by Tactical Grenades. Ghost along with a well-timed use of Dead Silence will let you get the drop on unsuspecting enemies.
For your equipment, C4 or Thermite helps greatly for doing damage to enemies while allowing you to do some damage to vehicles if you’re lucky enough to time your throws correctly. Your choice of Tactical Grenade isn’t too different from the other build, as the Stun Grenade will be even more useful if you’re running up on unsuspecting enemies, and the Heartbeat Sensor will let you find them.
Best Mid to Long Range Warzone Loadout
Attachments:
- Optic: Variable Zoom Scope
- Barrel: VLK 200mm OSA
- Ammunition: SPP 10-R Mags
- Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape
- Stock: VLK Strelok
Perks:
- Cold Blooded/Double Time
- Ghost
- Battle Hardened
Equipment:
- Claymore/Proximity Mine
- Heartbeat Sensor
Why use this loadout?
The alternative ammunition type for the AS VAL is more useful than it may seem. Even with a small magazine size, you’ll still be able to engage and down enemies at a decent distance with only a few well-placed shots. As the AS VAL also uses AR ammo, you’ll have massive reserves to play with, so don’t be shy about dumping rounds at your enemies.
The Variable Zoom scope allows you to engage at longer distances will still making you somewhat effective at short or mid-range, as the scope allows you to switch between a 3.0x and a 6.1x Zoom level. The VLK 200mm OSA barrel provides additional damage range and bullet velocity, which is ideal for long distance engagements, and the VLK Strelok Stock provides a great number of bonuses to your accuracy. Since you’ll likely be firing quick follow up shots, you’ll want something like the Rubberized Grip Tape to compensate for recoil as well.
Your perks will help you out fighting at long distances, as the combination of Cold Blooded and Ghost will make you invisible to anything but the naked eye or an attentive ear. Double Time is a good alternative as it will allow you to relocate quickly to make it harder for your enemies to find you, and allow you to run to cover if you are caught in the open. Battle Hardened will help you out if you’re caught unaware by a well-placed Tactical Grenade.
If you’re going to be engaging at much longer distances, you will likely be holding down an angle. To prevent people from running up behind you, you might prefer to have a Claymore or Proximity mine to slow them down. If you care less about being invisible to radar, you can use Overkill in place of Ghost and take a secondary like the MP5 to help out in CQB.
Why use the AS VAL?
The AS VAL has a high potential for being an extremely effective weapon in Warzone, between its high fire rate and high damage. The fact that the AS VAL is also integrally suppressed means that you won’t have to use a slot on that attachment if you prefer to stay on the stealthy side. All in all, the AS VAL is an excellent weapon that should rival other ARs if you get used to its fire rate and recoil.
