In Minecraft, enchantments exist to help players survive and ease their livelihood. And most of these enchantments are easily accessible to players using the enchanting table. But some are not that easy to come by. Some enchantments can only be obtained through looting, trading, or more. Furthermore, these enchantments have increased costs or have multiple upgrades making them much harder to complete or max out. And as a survival player, that makes things all that more problematic. These enchantments can prove to be very useful or may cause a problem for players. Whatever the effect may be, it will not change that they may be rarer than most enchantments in the game. Here are the top 5 rarest enchantments in Minecraft.

4. Infinity Enchantment

Most players might already know this enchantment, but this does not make it any less rare. The Infinity enchantment allows the user of the bow it is equipped on to have infinite arrows while simply carrying a single arrow in their inventory. It is a powerful enchantment, and thus, acquiring it is no easy feat.

3. Soul Speed Enchantment

3 1

Soul Speed is an enchantment that allows the wearer to walk on soul sand quickly. This will prove useful for players venturing into the soul sand valley biome. But it is incredibly rare as it can only be obtained inside the Nether. There is no specific way to obtain this enchantment other than to open chests that generate in bastion remnants or barter with piglins in hopes of obtaining this unique enchantment.

2. Thorns Enchantment

4

According to the statistics, the Thorns enchantment is likely one of the rarest enchantments in Minecraft to date. And even though it sounds like it is a common enchantment to obtain, it is, in fact, not that easy at all. Thorns make fighting mobs much easier as attacks dealt towards you may gain a chance to bounce back towards its attacker. So when you have this enchantment, do not simply take it for granted.

1. Cleaving Enchantment

5

The Cleaving enchantment is the rarest enchantment in Minecraft thus far. Cleaving allows your ax to deal massive damage to opponents as well as break their shield. It is considered the rarest enchantment as it only exists in the upcoming Java edition combat tests. Hence it is not available in the game. But if you have the Cleaving enchantment, PvP, and multiplayer skirmishes in Minecraft should be a piece of cake for you.
