Hacking and slashing your way through this amazing world with your friends seems very appealing. This game is mechanically very appealing to play with more players.
Single-player mode is also good, but there is a certain flair when playing with other people, knowing you have back-up if you need. But is it possible to play co-op and slash with other players?
Today, we will talk about this topic and answer the question: How to play co-op in Torchlight 3?
How To Play Co-Op in Torchlight 3
The predecessors to this game – the first and second installment, both didn’t have any local co-op capabilities. We had the possibility to play with up to six players in online co-op in Torchlight 2.
The multiplayer aspect, as I said above, is perfectly made for this game. You can find lost civilizations, and battle in enormous scary dungeons.
Without further ado, how to play co-op in Torchlight 3?
- While in-game, click “P”. This will open the social menu.
- From there, choose the Social tab in the top side of the screen.
- Now you can choose to either invite your friends or nearby players.
Online, you can play it with up to four players.
The online mode is a co-op mode. So, if you want to play with your friends you will have to use the online option to do this.
Sadly, we haven’t seen anything from the developers suggesting that they have plans to implement local co-op. Torchlight has remained unavailable for local co-op play, and it seems like it would stay that way.
However, seeing how much interest there is for this might suggest that they might think about adding local co-op play. We don’t know though, for now, we need to sit tight and wait, and use the online co-op mode as a substitute.
It’s important to note that you must have the same difficulty selected if you want to play together with other people. Good luck!
