Cypher was already a great pick on Icebox even before his abilities got a nice upgrade in Patch 5.10. Icebox’s narrow lanes and chokepoints allow Cypher to set up powerful Trapwires to stop enemies in their tracks.

Icebox is also one of the few maps in VALORANT where Cypher can supplement his Trapwire setups with borderline broken one-way Cyber Cage setups that give Cypher an unfair advantage on defense.

We have compiled some of the best Cypher One-way setups for Icebox in this quick guide.

Icebox A-site Cypher One-way

A-site is arguably Cypher’s strongest bombsite on Icebox. A-site features multiple narrow lanes and chokepoints that Cypher players can easily cover with Trapwires. When coupled with strategically-placed one-way Cyber Cage setups, A-site can become a very scary bombsite to push for the Attacking team.

A-Maze One-way Setup 1

1. Align yourself with the middle of this line A-Nest:

2. Place the left tip of the Trapwire and Cyber Cage HUD line on this marker on the floor:

3. Throw Cypher’s Cyber Cage:

When done properly, Cypher’s Cyber Cage should land the edge of A-Screen:

This will give you a great one-way effect from the back of the site.

A-Maze One-way Setup 2

1. Stand on top of this box at A-Default:

2. Place your crosshair on the tip of this line on A-410:

3. Cyber Cage should land on top of 410:

Icebox Middle Cypher One-way

Middle is an important lane on Icebox that dictates how both teams will play the rest of the round.

As a Defender, it is your job to keep enemies out of the middle, especially the small entryway toward B-Orange, as this gives the Attacking team an extra lane to work with as they try to control B-site.

The One-way setup featured below is guaranteed to give you a one-way effect toward Icebox Middle and hopefully help you control the Middle area more effectively.

Middle Boiler One-way Setup

1. Align yourself with the black line on the Middle Boiler:

2. Place the HUD line between Cyber Cage and Spycam on this corner of the bottommost container van in the Middle:

3. Throw Cypher’s Cyber Cage:

This one-way effect is very powerful against Middle Attackers as they cannot see you while standing on top of the Middle Boiler.

Icebox B-site Cypher One-way

B-site is also a great bombsite when you’re using Cypher on Icebox. You can set up simple yet effective traps to cover B-Green and hold angles toward B-Garage from B-Yellow if you want to play aggressively early in the round.

You can also just play safe within the bombsite and wait for unsuspecting enemies to cross your Trapwires and One-way Cyber Cage setups at B-Yellow. The choice is yours.

B-site One-way Setup 1 (Use alongside Setup 2)

1. Align yourself with this wall at B-Yellow:

2. Place the tip of the left HP HUD Line in this corner on the B-Yellow container:

3. Throw Cypher’s Cyber Cage:

When done properly, Cypher’s Cyber Cage should land on the edge of the B-Yellow container:

B-site One-way Setup 2

1. Align yourself with this line on the wall in B-Default:

2. Aim for the upper right corner of the circle on the container:

3. Throw Cypher’s Cyber Cage:

When done properly, Cypher’s Cyber Cage should land on the small cubby on the container door.

Feel free to set up Trapwires along B-Green and B-Yellow:

When you hear enemies coming, activate both Cyber Cages and take down as many targets as possible. Using a Phantom will ensure the enemy team will not know where you are while shooting.

B-site One-way Setup for Snowman

1. Align yourself with this wall near B-Snowman:

2. Place the left tip of the Spycam charge indicator on the bottom right corner of the white marking on B-Yellow:

When done properly, Cypher’s Cyber Cage should land on top of B-Yellow and give you a great one-way effect from behind B-Default:

Despite receiving buffs to his kit, Cypher remains one of the least popular Sentinels in VALORANT. However, his poor popularity should not stop you from utilizing his powerful kit on maps that greatly complement it, such as Icebox.
