Very few titles manage to outshine the rest when it comes to the fighting game genre, but Tekken and Virtua Fighter are considered classics when it comes to 3D fighting games. Just in, Virtua Fighter 5 has revealed their Tekken 7 crossover DLC which will dress familiar characters in Tekken-inspired outfits.

Virtua Fighter 5 Reveals Tekken 7 Crossover DLC

Check this out:

The entire package includes 19 character costumes that will make VF characters look as close as possible to Tekken fighters. The collaboration also comes with twenty background music tracks from Tekken, to further meld the two fighting worlds.

We don’t know when the follow-ups for both games are set to be announced, seeing that the granddaddy of the fighting game genre—Street Fighter—is set to release Street Fighter 6 sometime later this year. We don’t exactly know when that happens, but some are suspecting that we could get a reveal sometime around State of Play later this week.

As for Tekken and Virtua Fighter, we can only wait and see. While VF is kind of sticking to its original, simplistic formula, it’s really Tekken that has managed to evolve and cultivate a fanbase that is almost as meticulous as the Street Fighter one. With the new generation of consoles just launching, Bandai would do well to try and update their classic titles.

The Tekken 7 Collaboration DLC Pack releases on June 1. Tekken 7 is now available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Virtua Fighter 5 is playable for PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360.
