Cyberpunk 2077 was riddled with numerous bugs when it first came out in 2020. While most bugs rendered the game unplayable for many gamers, some bugs, like the Johnny Silverhand Arm bug, allowed players to rock the iconic arm of one of the most popular characters in Cyberpunk 2077.
However, in the game’s current patch, many players wonder why they can no longer equip Johnny Silverhand’s Arm in Cyberpunk 2077. Read on to find out why.
How Do I Get Johnny’s Arm in Cyberpunk 2077?
You can no longer equip Johnny Silverhand’s Arm in Cyberpunk 2077 because his arm was a bugged item that should not have been available from your inventory in the first place.
After you complete the Chippin’ In mission in Cyberpunk 2077, you will find Johnny Silverhand’s arm in V’s backpack, which you are free to equip anytime. The arm will show up without a name in V’s inventory and have a weirdly low value of just $1. The item’s lack of proper description and the unusually low value are dead giveaways that the item is bugged.
Moreover, when equipped, Johnny Silverhand’s arm only appears in first-person and third-person view. However, it does not appear on V’s body when viewing V’s model in inventory and photo mode. Johnny’s arm also looks transparent when equipped and looks nothing like it does when the arm is on Johnny.

What was Johnny Silverhand known for in Cyberpunk 2077?
Johnny Silverhand was the founder and lead singer of the chromatic rock band Samurai in Cyberpunk 2077. Despite being a well-known rockstar, Johnny Silverhand also lived a hard past life as a military veteran who stood against NUSA and The Corporations.
Johnny Silverhand was born Robert John Linder. Still, he is more widely recognized as Johnny Silverhand – a name inspired by the bionic arm that replaced his original arm, which he lost while serving in the Second Central American War.
Who is Johnny Silverhand based on?
Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the original Johnny Silverhand character created by Mike Pondsmith for the Cyberpunk RPG in 1988. In Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand closely resembles Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, who agreed to play the character in 2018.
CD PROJEKT RED not only based Johnny Silverhand on the John Wick actor’s looks, mannerisms, and voice, but they also made him an important character in the game – serving as a co-protagonist alongside Cyberpunk 2077’s main protagonist, V.
Final Thoughts
The ability to see and equip Johnny Silverhand’s arm was never an intended feature in Cyberpunk 2077. That is why you’re no longer able to equip the item in-game. Unfortunately, there’s also no way to recreate the bug in-game anymore since CD PROJEKT RED has already fixed the bug through an update. However, players lucky enough to experience the bug will remember how cool the silver arm looked back when they could still equip it on V.
