Season 6 of Fortnite has been full of new content, and quite frankly, it is hard to keep up with everything new that has been added to the game. Among one of the additions in the game was the Primal Shotgun, which seems to be favored over the pump for some reason. However, why is that the case, is this shotgun even worth it, or particularly overpowered?

Fortnite: How to Use the Primal Shotgun

Well, there is a huge reason that everyone keeps using it. It appears there are clear advantages to using it. Keep reading to find out more, and also how to use this shotgun properly.

How to Play with Primal Shotgun – Fortnite

This gun is interesting in a couple of ways. The first one is its damage. In any rarity, it does more than 200 damage per second. It works with 12 shells, and it fires two shots, one after the other respectfully after clicking.

Now, to get the full 200 damage one must be extremely precise, but in any case, that damage is bonkers. The Primal Shotgun is not for everyone though.

Here is what you need to know in order to use the Primal Shotgun in Fortnite:

  • Close-distance only! This gun is horrendous at mid-to-long range. To fully utilize the shotgun, be as close as to your opponent as possible.
  • If you’re good at building, consider this shotgun. Realistically, build-fights are the most realistic time where you would be really close to your opponent. So, pick out build-fights, and avoid fighting from far away.
  • Even though pumps have the longer-distance advantage, they reload much slower, and their firing rate is slower as well. This is worth to note when challenging enemies that use the pump.
  • Now, if you’re a player that likes to keep distance with enemies, then the Primal Shotgun might not be for you. It is heavily reliant on short-distance.

This gone is definitely not for everyone. However, the strength of it is nothing to be reckoned with. At the moment, most players craft this weapon as soon as possible, in order to get a competitive advantage.

Whether it will be nerfed or not is the million-dollar question. But until then, why not one shot your enemies with the Primal Shotgun?
