Nathan Drake’s journey may have been closed up in the games, but he’s going to continue his treasure hunting on the big screen via Tom Holland. Uncharted has just hit digital, and we have a new featurette following Holland’s typical day on set.
Watch this:
The scene that Holland is shooting is essentially the one from the climax where Drake has to fend off a bunch of thugs on a flying boat. While we get to see Holland do some of his own stunts, we also get introduced to his stunt doubles and everyone else on set who is making the film possible.
While Holland may not be the perfect interpretation of video game Nate Drake, he does make the character his own. Admittedly he still has a lot of that Peter Parker energy, but I guess Drake is a lot more confident. You also have to love how Holland and Mark Wahlberg bounce off each other as Nate and Sully.
We don’t have news of a sequel yet, but I can see this one easily getting greenlit—depending on whether the studio was happy with the box office performance.
Street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother…but only if they can learn to work together.
Uncharted is now available on digital and will come to Blu-Ray and 4K UHD on May 10.
