Cyberpunk 2077 has been the subject of the most heated criticism in the history of gaming. The game was highly anticipated and there were a lot of high expectations for it, that weren’t delivered.

Cyberpunk 2077: Has It Been Fixed?

When Cyberpunk 2077 came out, there was no getting around it, the game had quite a lot of bugs and issues with it. Most obvious ones were on the last-gen consoles. The game felt as though it wasn’t optimized for the previous generation consoles at all.

CD Projekt Red came out with a statement acknowledging the issues, and most importantly how they’ve failed last-gen console players. However, has anything changed, is the game fixed now?

Is Cyberpunk 2077 Fixed?

There is no doubt that the game had issues, but on top of that, majority of the community had some unreal expectations for it. Just because of the fact of how many years it was under development, and after the success with Witcher 3, many thought that this game was going to be groundbreaking.

After acknowledging many of its issues, CD Projekt Red, in a statement in December stated that they were going to focus on many updates that will optimize and improve the game.

Huge updates rolled around, and while many things are fixed at the time of writing, I think that this game is far from its last stage. A huge update is scheduled to come out in January, as well as February.

January and February Updates

There isn’t much information on what these updates will contain, but many believe, like me, that most likely they will be focused more towards making the game playable for the Xbox One and PS4.

For the most part, the game felt stable on PC and the next-gen consoles. Don’t get me wrong, there were some issues, but they were mostly gameplay related, and not game-breaking like on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Along with making the game more stable on the old-gen consoles, there will be quite a bit of tweaking to the in-game physics, graphics, and gameplay, all of the things which were subject to issues.

What Does This Mean

So, to sum up, the game isn’t “fixed” at the moment, but there are quite a lot of issues that are fixed now, which were most notable when the game got released.

Chances are that after the February update, the game will feel much more like it was expected to be before it launched.

All in all, the idea and the story are there, but the realization is a bit off. The fact that the developers had to start all over one time during development, might be the main reason for poor realization. Let’s hope that we have a great title, and the game we hoped to see.
