With the current state of Cyberpunk 2077, it might leave players to search for alternatives, that also, hold the same theme and style of gameplay and story. As we will see in this list, there are quite a few titles that you can play if Cyberpunk 2077 disappointed you. Nevertheless, I for one, was not disappointed as much with CDPR newest title, but I did manage my expectations before its release. Most didn’t do that.

Best Games Like Cyberpunk 2077

What I wanted to say was that not all had a bad experience with this game, so some that have already finished it, might be looking to extend their journey and try out a much similar game.

How We Evaluated Best Games Like Cyberpunk 2077

  • Theme of the game. As a whole many things fall into the category.
  • Many side-activities, side-missions, interactions and much more.
  • Highly compelling progress system.
  • Similar mechanics, aspect, and gameplay.
  • Also, overall, things like graphics, stability, and much more.

1. Fallout 4

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC

Initial Release Date: November 10th, 2015

Developed by: Bethesda Game Studios

This game is beautifully made, and its core story is rich. You might say that this game isn’t much like Cyberpunk 2077, but there is more than meets the eye here. For example, side-activities are very frequent in this game. The open-world is enormous with much to explore.

On top of that, progression-wise, well, it’s fair to say that you won’t get bored from it anytime soon. Like Cyberpunk 2077, this game is first-person, which really determined that it gets to the best games like Cyberpunk 2077 list.

There is a lot of emphasis put on things like technology, artificial intelligence, mechanical beings, and similar stuff, which is also potent in Cyberpunk. If you want a hugely progressive adventure-action game, then Fallout 4 is the best it gets for similar games to CDPR newest game!

2. Watch Dogs: Legion

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series S and X, Google Stadia, PC

Initial Release Date: October 29th, 2020

Developed by: Ubisoft Toronto

Even though Watch Dogs Legion’s plot is set in 2026, you got to admit that the developers might have overestimated how much the world would change until that year. I mean who knows we might get to the point where technology can be manipulated as much as in Watch Dogs Legion.

Nonetheless, on this occasion, the overlooked technological advancement might be a good thing. What I mean by this is that the technology might not be as advanced as Cyberpunk 2077, but it is damn close. Unfortunately, it’s not first-person gameplay, but the emphasis here on the story, i.e. technological manipulation.

Graphics-wise, I mean, Cyberpunk 2077 has already set a low bar, but Watch Dogs Legion does have some great graphical aspects to it. In addition, this game is much high-risk than CDPR’s title. This is because when your characters die in Legion, they won’t revive.

At its core, there are some difference, but considering how the two stories overlap in some aspects, it made it to this best games like Cyberpunk 2077 list.

3. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC

Initial Release Date: June 7th, 2016

Developed by: DICE

When Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst came out, first-person didn’t work well dynamically until then. But with this game, people realized that there is much more potential for first-person gameplay than that was known until then.

Cyberpunk 2077, might be a much more pessimistic representation of the future, while Catalyst introduced us to the Glass world, which was much more composed and clean outlook of the future, but aspects like brutality, chaos, corruption, and other things are same for both games.

In theory, you fight with the system in Catalyst, which is much like Cyberpunk 2077, however, a lot of the freedom that the other game offers, Mirror’s Edge doesn’t. There are only certain parts of the world you can interact with, but it is a great choice if you want to touch some history and see how the first-person gameplay was revolutionized.

4. Ghostrunner

Available on: Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PS5, PC, Android

Initial Release Date: May 6th, 2020

Developed by: One More Level, 3D Realms, Slipgate Ironworks

To make up for Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst’s lack of action and hack-and-slash elements, we needed to choose a game that will be mostly focused on that, hack-and-slash. With so many reviews from top game reviewers, Ghostrunner literally crunched some high-player numbers.

Its set in the future, and is very chaotic indeed. You will play a character, which has a focused skillset of taking down enemies in a blink of an eye. Cyberware is present in Ghostrunner under a different name, and in both games, this technology will increase the performance of your character.

The world isn’t as open as Cyberpunk’s one, but the graphics and the dynamic of this game makes up for this. When playing it, you won’t even notice that most of the world is closed off. There is also a lot of Katana combat which is present in Cyberpunk 2077 as well.

5. Observer: System Redux

Available on: Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, MacOS

Initial Release Date: August 15th, 2017

Developed by: Bloober Team, Anshar Studios

Although this one is a psychological horror game, it is set in a world a few years ahead Cyberpunk 2077. The setting is similar, and the future is represented in a way which will make anyone pessimistic about it.

It focuses on how much technological advancement can go wrong. Even though the world isn’t as open as Night City, you will still get the feeling like there is endless content to be uncovered. Most of the beings in this game have some sort of chip that is given by a powerful corporation.

You will start to uncover much mysteries, and see how this corporation has manipulated people. Because the character you’re playing was a previous detective, you will have much more advanced features that will help you on your journey.

6. Cloudpunk

Available on: Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, PC

Initial Release Date: 2020

Developed by: ION LANDS

Just like the name is similar with Cyberpunk 2077, many aspects of this game will be overlapping with CDPR latest game. However, this game might not be for everyone. With shaky framerates on console, this might be a deal-breaker for some.

Nonetheless, the plot is in the future, and the story and characters do have some depth to them even though it might not seem that way on first impressions. You will play Claudia which will deliver packages for a firm that is somewhat mysterious.

I remember how much the open-world aspect of this game surprised me. That’s about the best thing about this game. Graphic-wise, this game is, and there is no other way to put this, as good as its FPS on console. It makes you wonder how this game was developed in 2020.

But if you want a futuristic alternative to Cyberpunk 2077, then this fills that role to some degree.

7. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Initial Release Date: August 14th, 2012

Developed by: United Front Games, Square Enix Europe

You might be surprised how Sleeping Dogs made it to this list of best games like Cyberpunk 2077, but there is more than meets the eye as far as aspects like Cyberpunk 2077 go. Overall, this game is amazing and it surprised many when it launched.

Things like tightly packed streets, a lot of pedestrian, chaos, and chatter make it quite similar to Cyberpunk. However, it won’t represent the future and there won’t be any emphasis put on technology in this game. Instead, you will play an undercover cop that needs to uncover the illegal underground of the city.

When you play it, you will definitely feel relatively the same degree of chaos as Cyberpunk 2077, and I do not mean error and bug-wise. Even though my humor isn’t as good as this game, what I meant to say was that you will battle it out with powerful enemies, most of the time, with your fists!

8. E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy

Available on: PC

Initial Release Date: July 29th, 2011

Developed by: Streum On Studio

Love it or hate it, it is no surprise that Cyberpunk 2077 has some similar things with E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy. With so much complexity much like Cyberpunk 2077, this game needed a whopping twenty-three tutorials in order to get the players ready for the action.

This game is a first-person sci-fi shooter. Even though its world and story might be shaky at best, it’s no secret that they’ve manage to nail some things. The world and creatures are both vast, and chances are that you won’t get bored while playing the game.

With such a creature roster, you have to adapt yourself in order to emerge victorious next to your enemies. What was most interesting about this game was how much bizarre and unusual aspects you can uncover even after playing it for quite some time.

9. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, MacOS

Initial Release Date: August 23rd, 2016

Developed by: Eidos – Montreal, Feral Interactive, Nixxes Software BV

While we had this game listed as a game similar to Hitman 5, what we failed to mention was that it is quite similar to Cyberpunk 2077. How? Well, for one, you’re playing a mechanically enhanced character, which has technology that can be upgraded and has unique perks and abilities.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is quite technological, however, the view of the future isn’t as dark or as chaotic as some of the games mention in this best games like Cyberpunk 2077 list. It has a unique story-line that is very rich, and will send you on huge and difficult missions.

You have to choose how you want to play the game, which was a big factor when determining if this game is similar to Cyberpunk 2077. With so much perk, ability, and gear customizations, there is a lot of potential for long gameplay.
