When you hop on the newest Need for Speed the Hot Pursuit Remastered version, it might be a good idea to know some things before you choose your starter car.

Best Starting Car NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered

We will evaluate the first cars that will be available to play once you start the game. We will evaluate them by power, strength, acceleration, and weight.

NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered – Best Starting Car

When you start the game, for your first ever race, you must use the Porsche Boxter Spyder. The other cars won’t be unlocked yet. They’ll become available once you increase your wanted level.

However, that will be soon after you finish one or two races. The cars that will be unlocked will be:

  • Porsche – Boxter Spyder (from start)
  • Mazda – RX-8
  • Dodge – Charger SRT 8
  • Mitsubishi – Lancer Evolution X
  • BMW – Z4 sDrive35is

That’s a wide range of cars to choose from. Now, all of them have their own unique perks, but there is one which trumps all of these.

We took play-style into consideration as well, but the one which is the best starting car is the best all-rounder, and will be the best for majority of the situations.

The Best Starting Car is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

The EVO has more or less a good amount of BHP coming in at 291. Which is far more than the Boxter and the RX-8.

It doesn’t have as much as the Charger, but where this car makes up progress is at agility. It’s far more agile than the Charger and the Mazda for that matter.

Furthermore, the it has a good amount of strength if you want to push or destroy Cops in-game. It comes second place at this, with the Charger being the first.

However, this car has speed, strength, agility, and relatively less weight than some of the others. The other cars usually lack one of these perks. Additionally, if you want to drive on surfaces other than tarmac, the EVO is the best choice for dirt terrain.

With that being said, I’m not saying that there are faster or better sounding vehicles than the EVO. But as an all-rounder it will get you the best all-in-all package. However, this car is only good as a starter car, after some time it’s a good idea to use other vehicles!
