What is the Build for Sayu in Genshin Impact

She is not a tanuki, Sayu is Sayu! This is the line people often get and are forced to remember if they have met the little ninja named Sayu. This fellow of the secret organization Shuumatsuban under the Yashiro Commission is much less known to the public but is highly loyal.

Sayu has mastered various ninjutsu, including those that help her escape, hide, and conceal her tracks and aura. She is also best known for her laziness, which she claims saves energy and only wants to spend time on more meaningful things.

As part of Yashiro Commission’s secret unit, being small makes it difficult for Sayu to go on missions that would involve combat. However, the ninjutsu that she has mastered helps her escape danger.

With skill outputs that scale off of her ATK and Elemental Master, building Sayu can be quite overwhelming. This guide will discuss Sayu’s kits, how her talents work, what equipment works best for her, and how to build Sayu.

Team Role and Playstyle

Sayu is a healer with heal amounts that scale off of her ATK. Meaning, the more ATK she has, the higher the healing amount she gives her teammates. This also allows Sayu’s attacks to deal decent damage.

However, her passive talent—Someone More Capable—will allow her to heal everyone in the party whenever she triggers a Swirl elemental reaction. The amount of heal that the Swirl is based on the amount of Elemental Mastery she has.

Since her elemental skill and elemental burst are Anemo attacks, they can trigger Swirl. The damage of Swirl is based on the character’s Elemental Mastery and not their ATK. This reaction also does not do critical hits.

With this, building Elemental Mastery for Sayu will increase her heal from Swirls triggered by both talents and increase her Swirl damage. If your Sayu has this build, you will have to spam her Anemo attacks, which can be easy with her elemental skill—Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash.

Focusing on building ATK for Sayu will increase her healing from her elemental burst—Yoohoo Art: Mujina Flurry. But the healing she provides from her Swirls will not do much to save her team.

The Mujina Flurry has its limits because it can only heal characters in its AOE if they have a remaining HP of 70% and below. If not, the Mujina Flurry will attack enemies in the AOE.

If you are lucky enough to unlock Sayu’s constellation level 1—Multi-Task no Jutsu, this limitation will be bypassed. This allows the Mujina Flurry to heal and simultaneously attack opponents inside its AOE continuously.

Weapons

The 5-star claymores in both weapon and standard banners are Wolf’s Gravestone (WGS) and Serpent Pride.

WGS greatly increases Sayu’s ATK. Therefore, it is the best weapon to increase the healing of her elemental burst. Serpent Pride, however, can help Sayu with energy refills to keep the elemental burst up and ready at all times.

For the 4-star claymores, Prototype Archaic, Luxurious Sea-Lord, and Lithic Blade are the ones that have ATK% as a secondary stat.

Again, more ATK means a higher amount of healing for Sayu’s elemental burst.

For the Swirl or Elemental Mastery Build Sayu, the best claymore available is the Rainslasher.

It offers an Elemental mastery of up to 160, which can greatly increase Sayu’s Swirl damage and healing by Swirl because of her passive talent.

Artifacts

A good artifact set for a healer always includes a circlet with Healing Bonus as the main stat.

For more Healing Bonus and Healing Effectiveness, you can have a 2-Piece Maiden Beloved paired with a 2-Piece Ocean-Hued Clam.

A combination of 2-Piece Gladiator’s Finale and 2-Piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence can give a total of 36% ATK bonus.

You can also have two pieces of either Maiden Beloved or Ocean-Hued Clam paired with two pieces of either Gladiator’s Finale or Shimenawa’s Reminiscence.

For Swirl and Elemental Mastery build, you can have two pieces of Wanderer’s Troupe paired with either Maiden Beloved or Ocean-Hued Clam.

Recommendation

Because of Someone More Capable—Sayu’s passive talent—it would be best to build as much Elemental Mastery. This will maximize Sayu’s capabilities as a healer and increase her Swirl damage, which she will be dealing with a lot.
