Chivalry 2 had a closed-beta period until a few games, and the biggest downside then, was the fact that players couldn’t enjoy the crossplay feature. While the game itself felt and looked great, many didn’t get to experience the action, and most were definitely frustrated that crossplay wasn’t available then. Nonetheless, since the game already launched, has something changed?
Is Chivalry 2 Crossplay Available?
Thankfully, Chivalry 2 has crossplay functionality, which means that players can now play against rivals that play the game from other platforms.
As time passes on, it is particularly rare to see games without cross-platform play functionality. However, implementing such feature isn’t at all easy. Maybe this is why Chivalry 2 has run into some crossplay issues.
The development team has confirmed that multiplayer activity is stable for parties from the same platform, with some known issue and bugs, but that cross-platform or cross-generation play is under investigation, and that they’re working on making this a reality.
The closed-beta proved to be unstable for cross-platform or even cross-generation play, but since the development teams is already aware of the issue, there aren’t much indicators saying that this will be a long-term problem.
For now, we all just have to sit tight and play Chivalry 2, as much as possible to build up some advantages over the other players.
Another thing which the development team mentioned was that they’re aware that the cross-platform play feature is quite important to many. And, even though it is hard to put a timeline on these things, they’re doing all they can to eradicate the problem.
This type of medieval first-person combat hasn’t been tested out on a multiplayer playing field just yet. Sure, over the years there were some multiplayer slice-and-dash titles, but not on the scale like Chivalry 2.
This is one of the most interesting title that we’ve come across in 2021. As far as crossplay is concerned, there isn’t much left to do, except sit tight and hope that a patch comes around soon.
