You don’t have to be stuck with the same class forever. Try out other classes in Diablo Immortal through the Class Change mechanic.

Diablo Immortal: How to Change Class

Diablo Immortal players have been begging Blizzard to add the option to change classes on the same account since the beta days. Blizzard didn’t take long to add the option in-game, as the devs finally added the class change feature just a few weeks after the game came out back in June.

Before you go ahead and switch classes in Diablo Immortal, there are a few things you need to know so you are not left in the dark about some important details that come with changing classes in-game.

This guide will show you how you can change your Diablo Immortal class.

Class Change Mechanic Rules

Changing Classes in Diablo Immortal is quite a complicated affair if you think about it, and the first thing you are thinking about when swapping is probably your items and in-game progression.

Before swapping out your current class for a new one in Diablo Immortal, here is some important information.

  • Class Change becomes available for a character beginning at level 35.
  • You may change your class once every seven (7) days and at no cost. There is also a one-time option to immediately revert to your previous class, skipping the seven-day waiting period. There are no current plans to allow players to purchase the ability to change classes more frequently. Customer Support cannot assist with providing additional swaps or bypassing the seven-day cooldown.
  • When you change to each class for the first time, you can set your character’s appearance and receive a full reset of your Paragon Trees.
  • You will be granted placeholder gear upon changing to each class for the first time. The placeholder gear will have an equivalent rank to the previously equipped gear of your last class.
  • All Clan, Warband, and other social group affiliations will carry over.
  • Some class-specific cosmetics and gear will not carry over when you change classes. All gear equipped for your previous class will be available in your inventory. Any cosmetics owned for a class will be retained on that class and will be available upon changing back to it.
  • The battleground Leaderboard position will transfer to your new class.
  • Challenge Rift Leaderboard position will be lost, but Challenge Rift progress will be retained.

How to Change Classes in Diablo Immortal

Changing classes in Diablo Immortal is easy. Simply go to Westmarch and head to Selynne’s Basilica toward the east. There you will find the Shifting Flames, which handles Class Changes in Diablo Immortal.

Before you can start using the Class Change mechanic, your character needs to be at least level 35. If you are having problems leveling up in Diablo Immortal, you might want to give dungeons with high-XP rewards such as The Mad King’s Breach, a few runs to level up enough to become eligible for a class change.

With that said, simply tap on the Shifting Flames and tap on the “Class Change” option to switch classes. Alternatively, you can tap on the “Overview” button to get a good idea of how the Class Change mechanic works.

Upon changing to each class for the first time, you will be granted placeholder gear with an equivalent rank to the previously equipped gear of your last class.

Unfortunately, some class-specific cosmetics and gear will not carry over when you change classes, but all gear equipped for your previous class will be available in your inventory. Any cosmetics owned for a class will be retained on that class and will be available upon changing back to it.

Change of Heart

Diablo Immortal has a total of six different classes to choose from. You are missing out on the unique gameplay experience that other classes offer if you lock yourself with just one of six classes for the entirety of your Diablo Immortal career.

Fortunately, the Class Change mechanic makes trying out other classes and swapping into them a seamless transition. Hopefully, you can switch classes successfully and find one that suits your playstyle the best in Diablo Immortal with the help of this guide.
