A Magic Dust that will get you those fabled gems in Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal uses various currencies used one way or another to acquire, upgrade, or trade items in-game. One such Currency is Fading Embers, which you can get randomly on your daily Elder Rift runs.
We have outlined everything you need to know about where to get Fading Embers and how you can use them in this guide.
What are Fading Embers in Diablo Immortal
Fading Embers is a Currency in Diablo Immortal primarily used to purchase Fa Runes from the Fading Embers and Runes Trader in Westmarch. Fading Runes are a material requirement for crafting random-variety Legendary Gems.
Where to get Fading Embers in Diablo Immortal
There is currently only one place to farm Fading Embers in Diablo Immortal, and that is from Elder Rift runs.
You can earn a minimum of 8 Fading Embers from your Elder Rift runs, but this number increases if you use a Crest to empower your dungeon run.
You can farm up to 200 Fading Embers per week from solo Elder Rift runs. This includes Crest-powered Elder Rift runs and normal Elder Rift runs.
You can farm an additional 120 Fading Embers per week if you team up with other players that use a Crest in their runs. So if you have already farmed 200 Fading Embers in your solo runs, consider teaming up with other players in your Elder Rift runs to push the total Weekly Cap to 320 Fading Embers.
Where to use Fading Embers in Diablo Immortal
Purchasing FA Runes
You will need Fading Embers to purchase Fa Runes from the Fading Embers and Runes Trader. Each Fa Rune will cost 18 fading Embers, and you will need anywhere from 7 to 28 Fa Runes to craft Legendary gems of varying quality.
Fa Runes will then be used to craft a random Legendary Gem from any of the options below:
- Random 1-star Legendary Gem – x7 Fa Runes or x126 Fading Embers
- Random 2-star Legendary Gem – x28 Fa Runes or x504 Fading Embers
- Random Legendary Gem – x22 Fa Runes or x396 Fading Embers
If you go with the Random Legendary Gem option, you can win a 1-star, 2-star, or 5-star Legendary Gem.
Crafting Legendary Crests/Eternal Legendary Crests
If you go to the Apprentice Jeweler, you can exchange your Fa Runes for an Eternal Legendary Crest, which guarantees an unbound Legendary Gem after completing an Elder Rift run.
You will need 22 Fa Runes to purchase an Eternal Legendary Crest from the Apprentice Jeweler.
Trading Runes
Fading Embers can also be used when trading Magic Runes and Rare Runes for Ati Runes. Doing so will cost 15 Fading Embers at the Fading Embers and Runes merchant.
- Magic Runes to Ati Rune – x12 Magic Runes and x15 Fading Embers
- Rare Runes to Ati Rune – x3 Rare Runes and x15 Fading Embers
Which option to go for when crafting random Legendary Gems?
Going for the Random 5-star Legendary gem might seem a solid choice until you see how slim your chances are at getting a random 5-star Legendary Gem with Fa Runes.
- 5-star Quality 2: 3.375%
- 5-star Quality 3: 0.90%
- 5-star Quality 4: 0.18%
- 5-star Quality 5: 0.045%
As you can see from the Crafting chances above, the chances of getting a 5-star Legendary Gem from the Random Legendary Gem option is less than 5%.
Nevertheless, choosing the Random Legendary Gem option will net you a random Legendary Gem that is tradeable, which means you can sell it on the market for Platinum. You can then use the Platinum you acquired to upgrade your other Legendary Gems in-game.
Fiery Dust
Fading Embers is one of the few farmable Currencies in Diablo Immortal. It is a crucial Currency that will allow you to purchase Fa Runes, which you can then use to craft Legendary Gems of 1-star, 2-star, or Random quality.
Fortunately, acquiring Fading Embers won’t cost you an arm and a leg in Diablo Immortal. All you need to do is complete those Elder Rift runs like you usually would solo. If you want to get even more Fading Embers, teaming up with friends will earn an extra 120 Fading Embers from your Elder Rift runs.
