A lot of games benefit from having a Battlepass system. It is an excellent way to reward players for the effort they put into the game. Furthermore, Battlepasses are usually cheap, and most players can get them without it making a dent in their wallet.
Spellbreak would very much benefit from having a Battlepass, and it would seem the logical thing to do. It will also serve as an incentive for players and lure more gamers in. But does Spellbreak have a Battlepass?
Spellbreak and Battle pass
Spellbreak does not have a Battlepass system. The developers clearly wanted to make this game as unique as possible, which also meant not having a Battlepass like other similar games.
All is not lost, though. Spellbreak will release a “Chapter System,” which seems to be similar to a Battle pass. They stated that this would be a way in which the lore would enter the game.
Many predict that this will also have an incentive, which means that players would get rewards for each chapter. Whether this will be in lore information or cosmetic items, no one knows, but it will probably focus more on cosmetics.
Players feel like the battle pass will be poorly received. And making Spellbreak Battle-Royale will negatively impact its reputation.
However, in the last few years, we’ve seen that these kinds of games do well, sadly the developers disagree. They feel like that they should not identify Spellbreak as a Battle-Royale. Instead, they have a game mode like BR so that the players are satisfied.
Proletariat, Spellbreak’s developers, are leaning towards creating the most distinctive experience for its fan-base. More power to them, since they want to eradicate generic trends and find the next big-thing.
Nevertheless, the chapter system seems like it’s very similar to a Battlepass, just stated in different words. For now, we don’t know, and we will have to wait and see if Proletariat makes an announcement or when the next big update hits. Until then, have fun on the battlefield!
