The Dungeons & Dragons movie seems to be embracing the culture of people surrounding the game, and besides humor, no D&D game would be complete without snacks.
Just in, we have a new ad for Honor Among Thieves tied in with Lay’s potato chips. Check this out:
It looks like the movie is going to have a running gag where Michelle Rodriguez’s barbarian character loves potatoes; so it’s actually perfect that the movie would get a sponsorship from Lay’s. We don’t know if they actually had Lay’s in mind for the potato gag, but anyone who’s played D&D knows that no dragon-slaying quest is complete without a whole bunch of junk food.
While the lore of Dungeons & Dragons can get pretty serious, I like how the movie direction decided to make a film about the culture of gamers instead. So far, reviews have been raving for the film, and I’m hopeful we can get a whole series of D&D films.
Here’s the movie description:
A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is set to release in theaters on March 31.
