Besides tributes, the fans are also taking this time to post any nostalgic memes from their earlier days of Overwatch. After all, this was the biggest hero shooter game back when it launched back in 2016, so you can bet that there are a lot of great gamer moments being shared online.
While we have a good idea of what we can expect from Overwatch 2, there are a lot of fans who are worried about how the new version will change the community. Besides the change in team compositions, the game being free-to-play does feel like it’s going to be changing the dynamic between players when it comes to in-game goods and cosmetics. It’s even said that a lot of characters won’t be free to access unless you own a battle pass.
Admittedly, there is a lot of pressure for Blizzard to deliver with this sequel, especially with all the hype that it’s built over the years. The first game may be a far cry now from when it first launched, but how much farther is the sequel going to feel?
Overwatch 2 launches for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on Oct. 4.
