Get Caught Up on the Lore of God of War with Felicia Day

Watch this:

While it doesn’t really get into some parts of the overall narrative, we do get a lot of the major beats, especially when it comes to the origins of Atreus as well as Kratos’ clash with Freya.

We don’t know exactly which characters are expected to show up in the sequel, but the previews have confirmed that Kratos will end up face-to-face with the Norse God of War, Tyr. Fans are also expecting a showdown with Norse’s most popular god, Thor.

Though nothing has been confirmed about Thor’s part of the story, I have a huge feeling that Kratos is going to kill him, because there’s no way the game is going to introduce a mythical weapon like Mjolnir and not have Kratos wield it. I mean, the God of War games sure have changed a lot, but Kratos salvaging new weapons from fallen enemies is a GoW staple.

From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018). Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.

God of War Ragnarok releases for the PlayStation on Nov. 9.
