After months of waiting, fans finally have a release date for God of War: Ragnarok. And though November is still months away, we have some updated info on Kratos and Atreus’ journey in the sequel.

God of War Ragnarok Gets an Updated Story Synopsis

As per the official PlayStation website, we have a new story description for God of War Ragnarok, and it reads:

From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018). Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.

While we did get a good gathering of Norse characters in the first game, we’re probably going to see some more popular faces with this sequel, including Thor and Norse god of war Tyr. With the first game also pretty sparing when it came to the realms to explore, this sequel promises that we’ll be travelling to each of the Nine Realms this time. You think at some point we’ll make it to Asgard or Valhalla?

With Kratos’ penchant for salvaging weapons from his enemies, some fans have speculated that he’ll actually be able to wield Mjolnir in the game, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens; I mean, the Leviathan Axe is already pretty great if you ask me.

Catch God of War Ragnarok when it officially launches on Nov. 9.
