It’s been a while since HBO’s The Last of Us series wrapped, and though we don’t have a release date yet, HBO’s latest tease for upcoming material gives us a look at Craig Mazin’s adaptation of the hit video game.
Check out the video till the end:
Besides getting a look at Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), we also have a look at Joel’s daughter Sarah (Nico Parker) during the day of the outbreak. We also get to have a brief glimpse at Nick Offerman who plays the paranoid Bill—a man who has booby-trapped an entire town to keep the infected and other undesirables away.
We should expect to see other characters’ in the show, but we’ll probably have to wait until HBO is read to announce the release date of The Last of Us. While some are hoping we could get something by winter time, I think it’s safe to assume that we’ll have to wait until 2023 until we get to see the premiere.
With The Last of Us being one of the most celebrated narrative-based games of all time, Craig Mazin has a lot of his work cut out for him when it comes to the adaptation. Even then, I think Mazin is a phenomenal talent, and with the involvement of game director Neil Druckmann, I think we’re set to have a series that’s going to be faithful with the source material.
No official release date has been set for HBO’s The Last of Us, but the games are currently available on PlayStation.
