Elden Ring does have a habit of challenging you and pushing you beyond your boundaries. It is certainly not without its difficulties and challenges, but the joy of coming out on top is amazing.

How to Beat Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest in Elden Ring

Amongst the various challenging bosses is the mysterious duo of Nox Swordstress and the Nox Priest. It is no walk in the park to defeat them, but with our help, you are bound to succeed.

Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest Overview

Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest
Slow yet deadly, this duo can be quite a challenge to take on when they gang up on the Tarnished.

The Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest together make up one formidable Elden Ring boss. As they are optional bosses, it is unnecessary to battle them to progress in the game.

Health bar: Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest both have approximately 1600 HP.

Types of damage: The bosses deal in physical and elemental damage.

Weapons: The Nox Swordstress is armed with a sword and melee staff while the Nox Priest spells.

Weaknesses: Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest have easily breakable poise, making them vulnerable to critical damage. They are also weak against the holy damage.

Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest Location: Both the Swordstress and the priest are located in eastern Caelid, northwest of Sellia, in the Town of Sorcery. You will discover that their chamber is locked shut by a magical barrier when you arrive. But do not backtrack.

You need to light the braziers in the town to break this barrier. Then, you will have to travel up the stairs from the ‘Sellia Under Stairs Site of Grace’ and head northwest. Enter their Wretched Chamber, and voila!

Movesets:

  • The Whip: Both the Priest and the Swordstress possess the ability to whip out their weapon, which increases the attack’s range. They can use this move in a combo, too, with the Swordstress being able to use multiple whips simultaneously.
  • Melee Swing: Both the Nox Priest and the Nox Swordstress can use this melee swing to their advantage, and considering their long range, you have to be careful.
  • Plunge: In this attack, both the bosses can pull their weapons a bit back and wreak havoc on you with a big, gigantic downward slice. This attack can be quite deadly.
  • Double Swing: This attack is just an extension of their melee swing. You can roll through the attack but then must wait for the second swing to finish.
  • Fist Weapons: The Priest and the Swordstress can bring out their two mini shield guards with spikes protruding.

What is the difference between the Nox priest and the Nox swordstress?

Although you can fight them together, there are notable differences between them. The Nox Swordstress is equipped with a sword and will engage in melee attacks. Whereas the Nox Priest will cast spells and attack you from afar.

Pre-fight Preparation

Both these bosses are vulnerable to Holy damage. Equip some Holy spells before going in.

Ensure that your weapon is leveled up

A high-level weapon would help finish the fight with relative ease. We recommend +12 for standard weapons and +5 for somber weapons.

Get some Holy spells in your arsenal.

Having a couple of powerful Holy spells in your arsenal during the fight can be no less than a blessing. Also, consider infusing your weapons with Holy damage. Both are extremely vulnerable to holy damage. The fight should be relatively easier if you focus more on inflicting Holy damage.

Use Glintstone Arc

The Glintstone Arc Spell can be cast to produce a highly effective offensive horizontal wave, which can damage multiple enemies at once. As you’ll be dealing with two bosses at once, this spell will come in more than handy.

Fighting Strategy

Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest beat the bosses
Don’t make the mistake of fighting both of them. Separate the bosses.

Try to separate the duo.

As we’ve established before, there will be double trouble for you. Attacking one while the other is nearby can be fatal. So you need to be able to separate the two from one another before going in for the kill.

This is your chance! I prefer ranged attacks instead of melee, at least when the duo stands together. In all likeliness, they will dodge in different directions.

Go for heavy strikes.

Both can easily stagger and will immediately avoid the attacks. To maximize damage in the limited time frame allowed, heavy assaults are recommended.

We would suggest that melee players approach this boss encounter aggressively. To avoid damage, wait for their strikes and try to time your dodge rolls effectively.

Try to make most of the arena.

Make the most of the arena and avoid getting backed up into a corner. As the odds are stacked against you, try to keep the fight in the center.

If feasible, battle them individually so they can not gang up and bully you. Take advantage of their sluggish speed if they approach together. Prepare to evade their next assault and then roll in to attack as soon as they pause for a breather.

Repeat the cycle until both of them are defeated. Just do not underestimate them and go for both of them at once.

Try to benefit from their lack of speed.

Although their side steps and dodge moves are rapid, they prefer to stroll. Try your best to take advantage of their casual attitude and approach. We recommend dishing out ranged attacks while they’re slowly closing the gap.

Rewards

If you can defeat both the Nox Priest and Nox Swordstress, you will make yourself eligible for:

  • 6400 Runes.
  • Nox Flying Sword: Not only does The Nox Flowing Sword scale with Strength and Dexterity, but it is also incredibly versatile. It is an excellent choice of weapon for players.

You know everything you need to defeat the Nox Swordstress and the Nox Priest. The fight itself is not a piece of cake, considering there are two enemies instead of one, and both have a huge range. But with the information that we have equipped you with, you should not face many difficulties!
