How to Get Tingle’s Set in Breath of the Wild

Players take on the role of the brave hero, Link, in the wide and captivating world of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link comes across several rare and strong items along his journey. These items help Link in their mission to save the Kingdom of Hyrule. Tingle’s Set is an elusive set of items, a whimsical outfit inspired by the renowned character from previous Zelda games.

Obtaining Tingle’s Set could require some perseverance and investigation. So, here, the player will gain useful information on how to obtain and complete this amusing clothing. This set grants Link a touch of eccentricity in his adventure through the wide landscapes of Hyrule. This guide will discuss getting Tingle’s Set in Breath of the Wild!

Tingle

Tingle’s Set pays homage to a renowned character from previous games in the series. Other than that, this set also provides tactical advantages in combat. It is one of the few objects in the game that features Tingle. He is a recurring character appearing in several The Legend of Zelda games. Specifically, Tingle appears in Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords Adventures, and The Minish Cap.

Tingle is one of the most unique and unforgettable characters in the Legend of Zelda series. He has captivated players with his flamboyant behavior and distinctive appearance. This character appears throughout the series wearing a green tunic with red briefs over it, a pointy head and ears, a red balloon, and fairy-like wings.

Tingle, who first appears in Majora’s Mask, sells maps to help Link on his adventures. Tingle’s true nature, however, extends beyond his cartography skills. He is a self-proclaimed “forest fairy” who wishes to be real and has an unapologetic obsession with fairies.

Tingle’s following appearances in titles such as The Wind Waker solidify his image as a popular and eccentric figure. His odd behavior and distinct catchphrases have had a lasting effect on players.

Tingle’s Set

Before Link can get Tingle’s Set, it is critical to understand that this armor set is only available to those who have purchased and installed The Master Trials DLC in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link will get new side quests after this DLC pack is bought and installed.

Tingle’s Set comprises Tingle’s Shirt, Tingle’s Hood, and Tingle’s Tights. Getting this clothing set is part of the game’s EX Treasure: Fairy Clothes side quest.

Wearing the Phantom set will grant Link a Night Speed Up bonus. This bonus will boost Link’s movement speed during the nighttime. Link can run, swim, and climb faster at night if he wears Tingle’s Set.

Link, however, cannot enhance any part of the Tingle’s Set from the Great Fairy Fountains throughout Hyrule. In addition, each part of the Tingle’s Set is also not dyeable in Hateno Village’s Kochi Dye Shop.

How to Get Tingle’s Set

According to lore in the game, Hyrule’s royal family gathered a collection of historically noteworthy garments. Some of these were green garments of the man who wished to be a fairy. However, historically, noteworthy garments were taken by a robber named Misko.

Misko keeps a journal that details the locations of the treasures. Misko’s EX Journal will give Link clues on where to find each item in Tingle’s Set. This journal also has clues for the other stolen historical garments.

Link can find Misko’s EX Journal on top of a broken shelf in the southernmost building in the Outpost Ruins. This area is slightly east of the Great Plateau Tower or west of the Bosh Kala Shrine.

Upon finding Misko’s EX Journal, Link can read that there are green garments of the man who wished to be a fairy hidden in the ruins of Hyrule Field. The journal will then give clues on where to find each item in Tingle’s Set:

Tingle’s Hood”…at the ruins where trade flourished…”
Tingle’s Shirt”…at the ruins where sinners were imprisoned…”
Tingle’s Tights”… at the village ruins next to farmland where many people once gathered.”

All locations where Link can find each of the Tingle’s Set are around Hyrule Field. The following is how to find every single garment in Tingle’s Set:

Tingle’s Hood

The headgear of Tingle’s Set, Tingle’s Hood, has a base defense of 2 and will boost Link’s movement speed at night if worn.

To find Tingle’s Hood, the clue in Misko’s journal is the ruins where trade flourished. This refers to the Exchange Ruins southeast of Kaam Ya’tak Shrine or south of the Central Tower in Hyrule Field.

Upon arriving in the Exchange Ruins, Link can find the treasure chest that contains Tingle’s Hood stuck on the ground around a pile of rubble in the southern part of the ruins. To remove it from the ground, Link must use the Magnesis ability.

Press and hold the up directional button, select the Magnesis Rune ability, and press the L button to aim. Aim at the chest, press the A button to activate Magnesis, and pull the chest out of the ground. Finally, open the chest to get Tingle’s Hood!

Tingle’s Shirt

The chest piece of Tingle’s Set, Tingle’s Shirt, also has a base defense of 2 and will raise Link’s movement speed at night if worn. It is important to note that there is a Guardian Stalker and Guardian Skywatcher in the area. Because of that, Link may have defeated these Guardians to eliminate the nuisance.

To find Tingle’s Shirt, the clue in Misko’s journal is the ruins where sinners were imprisoned. This refers to the Castle Town Prison, northeast of Noya Neha Shrine or west of Hyrule Castle.

In the Castle Town Prison, Link can find the treasure chest with Tingle’s Shirt stuck on the ground near some wooden ruins in the southern part of the prison ruins. To detach the chest from the ground, Link has to use the Magnesis ability again.

Press the L button to aim the Magnesis Rune ability, aim at the chest, press the A button to activate Magnesis on it, and then pull the chest out of the ground. Finally, open the chest to get Tingle’s Shirt!

Tingle’s Tights

The leg garment of Tingle’s Set, Tingle’s Tights, also has a base defense of 2 and increases Link’s movement speed at night when worn. It is worth mentioning that there is a Guardian Stalker west of the village ruins and another in the Ranch Ruins in the southwest. So, Link may have to face these Guardian Stalkers when heading to the Mabe Village Ruins.

To find Tingle’s Tights, the clue in Misko’s journal is at the village ruins next to farmland where many people once gathered. This refers to the Mabe Village Ruins, which are way west of the Kaya Wan Shrine and the Wetland Stable, southeast of the Sacred Ground Ruins, or along the path northwest of the Central Tower in Hyrule Field.

Upon arriving in the Mabe Village Ruins, Link can find the treasure chest that contains Tingle’s Tights stuck in the ground under the remains of a Guardian Stalker in the southeastern part of the ruins. Link must again use the Magnesis Rune ability to remove the chest from the ground.

Press the L button to aim the Magnesis ability, aim at the chest, press the A button to activate Magnesis on the chest, then pull it out of the ground and from the dead Guardian Stalker. Finally, open the chest to get Tingle’s Tights!

Conclusion

Because each item in Tingle’s Set has a Base Defense of 2, wearing it as a set will only give Link 6 Defense. Compared to the other armor sets in the game, the Defense of Tingle’s Set is quite low.

Now that Link has Tingle’s Set; Link can wear this unique set in pursuing the Breath of the Wild’s many main quests, side quests, and shrine quests while getting a boost in movement speed at night!
