Most of the enthusiast out there are probably aware of Raspberry Pi. Raspberry Pi is a real small-factor motherboard. Well, technically it isn’t a motherboard only, since there is CPU, ram, and a graphics card inside.

Usually, this small computer is only 2 inches by 4/5. What’s even more interesting is that there are even smaller sizes that this, and it only weighs in 45 grams (latest model).

All you need is a Raspberry Pi and a display to have a computer at home.

But, if you want a small computer, then you would need to buy both a Raspberry Pi, and a small display. Thankfully, we have picked out which ones you need to get to make your own mobile PC.

Raspberry Pi

There are a couple of models out there on the market. Each is different, and some are older, and some newer. A great starting one would be Raspberry Pi 4 B 8GB.

You can opt-in to get the same version with a little less ram if you want to cut-down on the price. This model was released in May of 2020, and it showcases how far technology has come.

Specs:

  • 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM
  • 1.5 GHz CPU Clock
  • GPU: VideoCore VI
  • 4 cores
  • Core Type: Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit
  • SOC Type: Broadcom BCM2711

Display

For a display, you would need something relatively small so that you can use this PC as a mobile device, instead of taking a monitor everywhere with you. It is important to note that there are many drawbacks with this, but considering the circumstances, it is the best viable option.

What you need to get is a 3.5 inch touch display that is intended for the Raspberry Pi, but more importantly, for your chosen model.

You will need to order both parts, and once you get them, it is only the matter of connecting them. Connect your display to you Raspberry Pi and then connect the other utensils as well.

There is a bit of setup you will need to do, but the video above showcases the whole process.
