The Forest Tapes is an item you can get in one of the Endings of the Freaky Feature of Found Footage mystery in World of Horror. The Forest Tapes will be “seemingly broken,” but the item’s description suggests you might be able to find a way to repair them.

How to Repair The Forest Tapes
There is currently nothing you can do to fix The Forest Tapes in World of Horror. The Trinket-type item has yet to serve a purpose in-game, even though the item description says you might be able to find a way to repair it.
According to the World of Horror dev @panstasz on X, the Tapes will eventually be used in a future game mode called Scenario Mode, which focuses on the missing crew found in each of the Tapes.
For now, you’ll just have to collect all the Tapes and wait until the devs add additional content that allows you to use the Tapes in World of Horror.
How many tapes are there in The Forest?
You can collect a total of six Tapes in The Forest. The Tapes contain clips featuring a girl named Megan, an unknown facility in the mountains, and the experiments that scientists are conducting at the facility. The last few tapes also show Armsy – a Creepy Mutant found in caves early in the game.
Below is a list of all six Forest Tapes in World of Horror:
- Megan’s Arrival – a clip showing a young girl on a helicopter that’s approaching a large man-made structure.
- Lunch with Megan – a clip showing a brief look at a cafeteria and the same girl in Megan’s Arrival in a wheelchair.
- Opening the Artifact – a short clip showing men surrounding a spiky Artifact.
- Side Effects – a clip showing doctors observing a child shaking violently.
- Armsy Breakout – a clip showing an Armsy breaking out of a glass room, attacking the men in the room, and knocking Megan off her wheelchair.
- Second Artifact Test – a clip showing scientists observing the Artifact’s EMP.
The Forest Tapes are a reward for completing the Freaky Feature of Found Footage mystery in The Forest.
What are the devs’ plans for The Tapes in World of Horror?
World of Horror dev Panstasz confirmed via the World of Horror Discord channel the arrival of a future update that will finally give the Forest Tapes use in-game.
According to Panstasz, you’ll get Tapes depending on the outcome you unlock through Scenario Mode. The Tapes are supposed to give you passive bonuses as you control the missing TV crew through the forest.
For now, The Tapes serve no purpose in The Forest, as there is no way to repair or use them in-game. You’ll have to wait until the devs add Scenario Mode to reap the bonuses provided by the Tapes.
